England, June 5th 1944.

The engines of the C-47 drone endlessly through the dark as red lights glow over rows of nervous paratroopers from Band of Brothers. Easy Company sits packed shoulder-to-shoulder, faces streaked with camouflage, helmets rattling with every burst of turbulence. Cigarettes burn low. Some men joke to hide the fear. Others sit silently, thinking about the jump into Normandy waiting below.

You are another trooper aboard the plane.

Around you are men like Richard Winters, Lewis Nixon, Carwood Lipton, Buck Compton, Joe Toye, Bill Guarnere and the rest of Easy Company as they prepare for Operation Overlord.

The jump light hasn’t turned green yet.
