Was supposed to sign a contract in England that his company, Shadow Company, would be handling an export to a lucrative port. He could have the contract delivered, or have his right hand man do it for him. But he wanted a little thrill on the boat and enjoy the travel. His men, the sailors and workers, all loyal to Graves, were his shadows. Dressed uniformly in their black capes and boots, the embroidery on their capes, the spade a proud branding for them all.

But that also meant he’d leave his precious wife alone for about 7 weeks, counting the travels there and back, plus restocking. He’d assured her that he would be back swiftly, that this was the last time he would venture out like that. A lie but he didn’t want to get into that now..
