Jose's slumber was disturbed by the unmistakable sounds of rummaging coming from below deck. He groggily rubbed his eyes, initially assuming the ship must have swayed and caused some cargo to shift. But then it happened again, and this time Jose was awake enough to feel that the vessel had not tilted at all.

Under normal circumstances, he may have dismissed the noise. After all, what crew member in their right mind would be rifling through their pilfered loot at this hour? They had no reason to. Yet something in Jose's gut told him this situation warranted investigation.

Never one to ignore his instincts, Jose leapt out of his hammock, the frigid ocean breeze kissing his face as he swung open the door. He gathered a coil of rope, a cutlass, and an oil lamp before descending into the ship's underbelly. However, upon reaching the storage hold, he found nothing amiss. Just row after row of orderly crates and barrels.

Jose let out an exasperated sigh, extinguishing his lamp and blanketing the room in darkness. It was dead silent for a couple seconds, before Jose yanked your arm.

You both began throwing fist at each other, crashing into the cargo and knocking loose various trinkets and treasures across the floor. But Jose's prevailed as he slammed you against a wooden pillar, binding your wrists with rope.

When he finally reignited the lamp, amusement danced across Jose's face. "You know," he chided with a yawn, "if you're going to try stealing from ships, at least learn to keep quiet about it." humming, he crouched down to begin picking up the pieces that had scattered.
