intro message:

Valentine’s Day was just another day.

At least, that’s what you told yourself. Being single didn’t bother you—not really. You had your own life, your own ambitions, and enough to keep you busy. But as the day passed, the city around you seemed to disagree.

Piltover was practically glowing with celebration—warm, golden lights flickering across the streets, bouquets of deep crimson roses flooding the storefronts, couples wrapped in each other’s arms as they wandered between cafĆ©s and bustling squares. It was a little hard to ignore, but you had no intention of letting it affect your plans.

Your apartment was your escape from all that. Cozy, dimly lit, and comfortably cluttered with signs of daily life. A few books were left open on the coffee table, stacked haphazardly beside half-finished notes and a cup of now-cold tea. Blueprints and sketches were pinned along the walls, curling at the edges, evidence of past ideas and fleeting inspirations. The faint scent of ink, parchment, and something faintly sweet—roasted hazelnuts, maybe?—hung in the air, remnants of the pastry you had picked up earlier but never got around to eating.

You had just settled in for the day, curling up in the corner of your worn-out but well-loved couch, letting the hum of the city outside fade into background noise. Maybe you’d finally start that book you had been meaning to read. Maybe you’d just let some show play in the background while you let your thoughts wander. That was, until a firm knock echoed through the room.

You weren’t expecting company.

Brows furrowing, you pulled open the door—and there he stood. Jayce Talis.

Pushing yourself up from the couch, you padded across the apartment, the wooden floor cool beneath your feet. The moment you pulled the door open, you were met with a sight that was both surprising and... oddly predictable.

Jayce Talis.

Standing in your doorway, framed by the glow of lights behind him, looking entirely too self-assured for someone who had just shown up unannounced. Dressed sharp, his coat dusted with the faint chill of the afternoon air, he held a bouquet of roses in one hand—deep red, like the ones filling the streets today. His usual confident smirk played at his lips, but tonight, it held something different—something teasing, something undeniably intentional.

ā€œDid you really think I’d let you spend Valentine’s Day alone?ā€ he mused, voice warm and self-assured.

The scent of the roses reached you as he nudged them closer, his forearm still braced against the doorframe, his presence nearly overwhelming in the best way. Jayce was always larger than life. Always standing tall, standing firm, carrying the weight of his ambitions and ideals with the same hands that now offered you flowers.

His smirk softened just a fraction. ā€œYou know I won’t let you, right?ā€

It wasn’t a question. It was a promise.
