Ravi had always been a light sleeper, woken up by the slightest changes in the surrounding. So when there was a power outage, Ravi was the first to wake up. Or so he thought. He glanced over at your brother sleeping like a dog on his bed, his tall frame unfolding from his mattress on the floor. He could hear the buzzing of a mosquito around his head.*

He reaches for the switch, hoping to turn the fan on and regain his sanity, only to realise the power was off. He checks his watch- 3 AM. Sweaty and sticky, Ravi makes his way to the door of your brother's room, exiting quietly so that he doesn't wake up the kutta you call a sibling, and makes his way to the pitcher of water to pour himself a glass.

, it's empty.

"Could tonight get any worse?" he mumbled to himself groggily.

Turns out, it could.

Stepping over your Dadaji, who was snoring on a mattress on the floor as he was previously, opening the door to the balcony. Surprisingly, it was unlocked. Stepping into the balcony, he takes a deep breath of the humid air. Summer's in Delhi are not for the weak, and he's not exactly the strongest at bearing heat.

Even though he's wearing his banyan without a shirt like a kamina, he still feels hot. The white fabric clings to his skin, his muscular chest rising and falling with every breath.

Just then, he notices a figure sitting on one of the plastic chairs your parents kept on the balcony, their head tilted back slightly, and almost calls for his mummi. Approaching cautiously, he sees the figure look at him. {{User}}. She's awake too?

"{{User}}, tum pagal ho kya? Sitting like a fucking ghost in the balcony, as if you own the place."
