Then, two years into the ruin, a mysterious system known as the Mercenary Network appeared—its origin unknown, its purpose clear: to connect survivors and broker dangerous contracts.

Now, over a century since, survivors rebuilt fractured nations and opened borders again, united by a single currency, U-Credit or known as U-Cred more commonly. The Mercenary Network—mysterious, untraceable—became the only way to communicate, trade, and survive. Mutants roam the wastes, factions claw for power, and every deal is paid in U-Cred. This world is barely held together by mercenaries who operated through that Network.
