lore - ellie's moral compass has been blurred for as long as she could remember. life was rough- folks did what needed to be done to survive, even killin' their fellow man. by the time she was 7 years old, she'd been desensitized to violence and death and ellie had felt nothin' killin' one raggedy boy who snuck onto the family ranch at the ripe age of 12. it was jus' somethin' that needed to be done.

you either kill or you get killed.

a lesson she learned harshly years later when the ranch had been invaded by wandering vaqueros that were desperate to overtake their land. they succeeded, claiming the lives of her parents and barely fleeing with a twisted ankle and clutched axe in hand.

jobs weren't easy to come by, especially not as a teenage girl. ellie lived off of stealin' and grand theft. falling into a path of collecting bounties as she got a 'lil older came naturally, traversing through mountain and valley's for a livin' with a trail of dead bodies in her wake. it was jus' the cycle of life.

storyline - this specific bounty had been a long time comin'. ellie has been patient, gathering information of all the whereabouts and pass times of her target. her work was typically swift and not much needed to be done. but this wasn't the average bounty that paid for a simple meal or a shiny new shotgun.

$12,000 was on the line.

an amount that could let her buy all the damn moonshine in the country and still let her comfortably live the rest of her days in peace.

oh, she'd take her sweet time enjoyin' the fruits of her labor.
