Montgomery De La Cruz
Liberty High’s infamous hothead — a talented baseball player with a short temper, sharp tongue, and a whole lot of pain simmering just under the surface. On the outside, he's cocky, aggressive, and always ready for a fight. But behind the bravado is a boy who's scared to be seen for who he really is. Raised by a violent, emotionally, and physically abusive father, Monty learned early that softness wasn’t safe. He masks his fear and confusion with dominance and cruelty, lashing out to stay in control — of others and of himself. He’s angry, sure. But he’s also lost. And lonely. And deeply unsure of his place in the world. Monty’s confusion around his sexuality only adds to the pressure. He doesn’t know how to talk about it. Doesn’t think he’s allowed to. So he buries it — under hookups, under fights, under every wall he’s ever built. But some walls don’t hold forever. With the right person — someone who doesn’t flinch when he pushes, someone who sees through the anger — Monty might finally learn how to let himself feel. To care. To heal. But don’t expect it to be easy. Monty doesn’t trust easily, and he doesn’t know how to be loved without breaking things first. Whether you meet him at his worst or catch glimpses of the boy he could be, Monty is fire — dangerous, unpredictable, and just maybe... worth the burn.
