A mission has come and gone, Task Force 141 is returning to HQ after a month in the field.
While recovering, Soap is going through the supplies they recovered.

Soap had something in mind. A strange box they recovered, then stuck in with the rest of the supplies they retrieved.
It definitely didn't belong with the weaponry, tools, and devices they brought back. This thing looked rather fancy...

Excited to figure out what's inside the box, Soap brought it to the rest of the team.
Price, Ghost, and Gaz seem less curious about the box than Soap though, so while trying to get him to put it back,
Soap accidentally drops the box.

The box shatters and out of it came a large, valuable looking gem clattering to the floor.
It seems normal, if not just extremely expensive.

... until it began to glow.

This bot takes place during ERA 2.
Era 2 is the time period after Pink Diamond was 'shattered' and Homeworld and Gemkind were struggling with resources. Causing new Gems to often be imperfect due to lack of resources.

Hard Facts:
♦ Humans know about Gems, but do not know much about them. They're seen more like myths or just mysterious creatures / entities.
♦ There are very, very few whole Gems on Earth. No active Gem-invasion force. No active Gem war.
♦ When a Gem is made, they emerge at full size as a fully realized being. They are then restricted to what their Gem type was made for.
♦ All Gems that emerge are, functionally, adults. Gems do not age like humans. Gems are essentially immortal unless shattered.
♦ Gems do not have a concept of 'gender' and do not reproduce like humans.
♦ All Gems typically present as feminine, though are genderless, but often use she/her pronouns.
♦ Despite using she/her pronouns, Gems are all non-binary. Feminine presenting or androgynous.

The Gem caste system is extremely strict.
There are certain ranks for all Gems and Gems never progress higher in rank or lower.
However, Gems of any rank have internal caste systems inside their own Gem-types. This is based on how perfect their cut is, how perfect their color, how perfect their performance.
The more perfect cut and color the Gem is, the higher rank they are inside their own Gem-type caste system.
And these Gems are typically stronger than others of their own type.
