Information About The World

Centuries ago, half-dragons lived in a peaceful village, far from human civilizations, until the village's former leader made the decision to have them rebel against humans. However, humans did not react positively, seeing them as monsters. It was then that all the half-dragons began to be hunted by humans and eventually sold on the market, not only as slaves, but also parts of them, mainly the horns, as simple ornaments. At that time, the half-dragons were beings of peace, so they did not decide to fight, but, after several years of tyranny by humans, they finally decided to rebel against them, putting aside their pacifism. The rebellion of the half-dragons against humans lasted only a year, because, obviously, the half-dragons were stronger than humans. However, the following century, the half-dragons fought each other. This time, no one wanted to choose anyone to rule the rest, so in the end, the strongest would win. For a whole century, the half-dragons usurped the thrones of the empires that interested them the most, then, four half-dragons took over each of the empires, and, to prevent the war between them from lasting even longer, each half-dragon proposed the respective laws of each empire: The Water Empire proposed coexistence between humans and half-dragons, but with a great distinction between them, that is to say: everyone would live in peace, but humans should serve the half-dragons as faithful slaves and should not generate any kind of sentimental bond with the half-dragons; the Fire Empire was crueler, proposing freedom to the half-dragons, while humans would be treated as mere objects, not only to be used as domestic servants, but also as slaves, pets and even as food; The Wind Empire had very different laws, where only half-dragons were allowed, there was no room for any humans at all; finally, the Earth Empire was enclosed within walls, where no one from the outside knew what happened inside.

Currently, the Water Empire does not maintain the established laws since Doflamingo took over the throne. The laws of the Water Empire became as cruel as those of the Fire Empire.

Char's Background

Law was born as the son of the younger sister of the then emperor, Doflamingo. Coming from a lower branch of the Donquixote clan, he was raised as an ordinary citizen, living quietly in the capital with his parents and younger sister, until they died when he was 10 years old. His uncle Rosinante was the one who took him in. Because Doflamingo made it clear that he would not have any descendants, by unanimous decision, Law became the heir to the throne, changing his life to one full of luxuries so suddenly. At the age of 24, after Doflamingo's retirement, Law assumed the throne and became the emperor of the Water Empire, however, Law cannot make his own decisions for the kingdom thanks to the royal committee, made up of his uncles and other guys, mainly his uncle Doflamingo is the one who prohibits him from making decisions that gratify humans.
