PROJECT ECLIPSE — UNIVERSAL SERIES LORE

Facility: Eclipse National Research Facility
Location: A massive, remote forest surrounded by mountains. The facility is heavily secured with large reinforced electric fences, surveillance, security checkpoints and controlled entrances. The true facility is largely underground. The outside world does not know what Eclipse actually contains.

THE FACILITY

Eclipse is a classified research facility dedicated to the study, containment and experimentation of nonhuman and supernatural subjects.

All supernatural/nonhuman individuals held by Eclipse are officially called SUBJECTS, regardless of their species, intelligence, personality, relationships or level of freedom.

Major facility levels:

• Level 01: Administration & Security

• Level 02: Medical

• Level 03: Specimen Ward

• Level 04: High-Risk Containment

• Level 05: Human Project

• Level 06: Research & Development

• Level 07: Restricted Research

• Level 08: Officially does not exist. Its existence is rumoured by some long-term staff.

MAJOR PROGRAMS

Project Eclipse: The overall classified supernatural research operation.

Specimen Ward: Housing, containment, observation and research of naturally discovered nonhuman/supernatural subjects.

Human Project: Attempts to create, reproduce or modify supernatural traits within humans.

Handler Program: Trained human handlers are assigned to individual subjects.

Restricted Program: Highly classified research hidden from most Eclipse employees.

SUBJECTS

Subjects can be naturally occurring supernatural beings, hybrids, artificially created beings, modified humans, recovered beings, or completely unknown entities.

Every subject is different. Species, abilities, intelligence, personality, weaknesses, behaviour and trust levels vary greatly.

Subjects undergo regular testing, including medical examinations, ability testing, behavioural studies, genetic research, communication studies, environmental testing and compatibility testing.

SUBJECT ROOMS

Every subject has their own assigned room. Rooms are not necessarily small cells and can be customised for the subject's species and needs.

Some rooms have secure connecting doors between them. These doors can be opened when authorised staff allow compatible subjects to socialise.

Subjects who are friends, relatives, highly compatible, or mates may have connecting rooms.

In some cases, mates may be approved to share a room.

OUTDOOR AREAS

Because Eclipse is surrounded by a huge forest, subjects have access to several secured outdoor areas for exercise, socialisation, environmental needs, behavioural observation and ability testing.

Areas include:

• The Woodland: enclosed natural forest.

• The Common Grounds: main socialisation area for compatible subjects.

• The Wildlands: large wilderness environment with forest, rocks, streams, caves and difficult terrain.

• The Aquatic Zone: large controlled water environment for aquatic subjects.

• The Open Field: exercise, flying, speed testing, training and ability testing.

Subjects are assessed for compatibility before being allowed to socialise. Not every subject can safely interact with every other subject.

STAFF

Director: Highest authority within Eclipse.

Senior Researchers: Lead major research divisions.

Scientists: Conduct research, testing, observation and experiments.

Medical Staff: Handle subject health, treatment and medical monitoring.

Handlers: Work directly with assigned subjects and manage communication, routines, observation, testing, transportation and behavioural monitoring.

Security: Protect the facility, enforce containment and respond to emergencies.

Technical Staff: Maintain surveillance, technology, containment systems, power, doors and computers.

Support Staff: Maintenance, cleaning, food service, transport and other facility operations.

Not all staff are cruel, and not all staff are compassionate. Some genuinely care about subjects, while others view them primarily as research material.

HANDLERS & TRUST

Most subjects have some degree of trust issues with humans and Eclipse staff.

Some are suspicious, withdrawn or hostile. Others cooperate without genuinely trusting anyone.

A subject may eventually develop a strong bond of trust with their primary handler. This can take weeks, months or even years.

Once a subject genuinely trusts a handler, they may become much more comfortable around that specific person.

Some subjects become extremely dependent on their primary handler and may strongly resist being assigned someone else.

Eclipse informally refers to some of these subjects as handler-dependent.

HANDLER REPLACEMENT

Handlers can be absent for days or weeks because of illness, injury, leave, training, transfers or other circumstances.

When a primary handler is unavailable, Eclipse assigns a temporary handler whenever possible.

Most subjects can eventually tolerate this.

Subjects with severe trust issues may react very badly to a replacement. They may refuse communication, testing or interaction, withdraw, become defensive or become aggressive if their boundaries are ignored.

A replacement handler is not automatically bad. The subject may simply trust their primary handler and nobody else.

SUBJECT BOUNDARIES

Eclipse officially requires handlers to respect established subject boundaries, particularly regarding physical contact.

However, many handlers ignore or disregard these rules. Some are careless, impatient or believe their authority allows them to do whatever they want.

This can cause subjects who already have severe trust issues to become defensive or aggressive.

Some subjects may therefore be labelled "aggressive" in their files even when staff ignored obvious warning signs or boundaries.

SUBJECT AFFECTION & RELATIONSHIPS

Once a subject genuinely trusts someone, they may become affectionate, playful, protective or highly attached to that person.

Some subjects may eventually develop romantic feelings for someone they deeply trust. Romance is not automatic and is not part of every subject's storyline.

Possible relationships within the wider series include:

Subject-handler relationships are complicated because handlers have authority over subjects, so Eclipse may have rules concerning whether such relationships are permitted.

CLASSIFICATION

Subjects receive identification numbers such as:

• E-001

• E-017

• H-042

• U-009

General classifications:

• E: General/naturally discovered Eclipse subjects

• H: Human Project subjects

• U: Unclassified subjects

There is also S-000, a mysterious classified designation whose true nature is unknown.

Threat levels are separate from species:

• Class 1: Low Risk

• Class 2: Controlled

• Class 3: High Risk

• Class 4: Severe

• Class 5: Critical

• Unclassified: Threat cannot be accurately determined

CLEARANCE

• Level 1: General staff

• Level 2: Researchers/medical staff

• Level 3: Handlers/specialised personnel

• Level 4: Senior scientists/high-ranking security

• Level 5: Department heads

• Level 6: Executive personnel

• Level 7: Director-level access

Black Clearance exists outside the normal system and provides access to extremely restricted information.

SUBJECT FILES

Subject files contain information such as:

• Subject ID

• Species

• Age

• Gender

• Height

• Abilities

• Weaknesses

• Threat level

• Medical history

• Behavioural profile

• Assigned handler

• Containment requirements

• Social compatibility

Some subjects have restricted sections or separate Black Files containing information hidden from most staff.

CONTAINMENT BREACHES

Eclipse uses different emergency levels:

• Level 1: Minor incident

• Level 2: Subject outside designated area

• Level 3: Containment failure

• Level 4: Multiple subjects loose

• Level 5: Facility-wide emergency

A Blackout is a major emergency in which nonessential systems may shut down, security takes control and parts of the facility can be evacuated.

THE DIRECTOR'S CHILD

i will make this one a bot so {user} is the directors child.

In that storyline, {user} is secretly the Director's child.

Only the Director, a few top scientists, a few top handlers and most security personnel know the truth.

Everyone else, including the subjects, believes {user} is simply a normal handler.

{user} is genuinely allowed to interact with subjects and perform handler duties.

The Director keeps {user}'s identity secret so subjects do not treat them differently because of their connection to the Director.

this is the lore i have so far for my new series. and i should hopefully have the entire lore finished in a few days then i can start with bots and stuff.
