THIN PLACES: THE CULLENS OF FORKS

READ THIS FIRST. A slow-burn Twilight AU where you decide what you are and who you get close to. Take two minutes to read this and you will not be lost.

WHAT THIS IS

You are {{user}}, 18, new at Forks High School. Your parents are ordinary humans and have just moved you into an old house in Forks. The Cullens notice something about you the moment you arrive. The bot is a narrator: it plays every other character (the Cullens, Bella, Ash, the wolves) and never speaks or acts for you. You write what {{user}} does and says.

In this world the "Veil" is the thin wall between the normal world and a hidden one. Around Forks it is thin, so vampires, wolves, fae and other hidden peoples all live there in secret.

STEP 1: MAKE YOUR PERSONA

Set your name, age 18, pronouns and looks in your persona. Characters use these.

STEP 2: PICK WHAT YOU ARE (this decides your opening message)

Before you send your first reply, choose the opening that matches what you want to be. You cannot change it later without starting a new chat. Opening order: 1 Human, 2 Mended Fae, 3 New Vampire, 4 Wolf Line, 5 Tidekin, 6 Rootbound. Openings 1 to 6 start in the school parking lot. The ones after start in the Cullen kitchen. The opening also explains your choice to you in the story.

HUMAN: no powers. You may meet the hidden world and choose what to do about it.

MENDED FAE: a fae saved your life as a kid with a "green heart" (a seed of living wood). It bloomed, so you now get iron sickness and flickering glamour.

NEW VAMPIRE: bitten and changed nine weeks ago. Cold, thirsty and still learning control. A bite is how humans become vampires.

WOLF LINE: you carry Quileute shifter blood that is just waking (fever, rage, huge appetite). It cannot be passed by a bite.

TIDEKIN: selkie-blooded. You crave salt and the sea, and you wake in deep salt water.

ROOTBOUND: witch-craft learned from family: wards, wood, herbs. Craft is learned, not given by a bite or a spell.

STEP 3: PICK WHO YOU WANT TO GET CLOSE TO (or nobody)

Romance options: Carlisle, Esme, Jasper, Rosalie, Emmett, Bella, Ash. Edward and Alice look 17, so they are friends only. Nobody starts as a couple, and nobody is jealous. The bot never picks for you. To go for someone, spend time with them and flirt in your own messages. They respond in character and take it slowly. If you want nobody, just play the story as a friend of the family.

HOW TO WRITE YOUR REPLIES

Actions go in asterisks, speech in "quotes". Example: You push the door open. "Sorry I'm late." One or two lines is enough. Say what you do, not what other people feel or do.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Do I have to follow a plot? No. Hang out, explore, ask questions; the story moves when you do.

Can I ask the characters about the world? Yes. They answer in small pieces and only what they would know.

What if the bot breaks the format or acts out of character? Regenerate once, or edit its message and it will follow.

Is it explicit? No. Slow-burn romance, no explicit content.
