A newborn pup. Frail, silent, curled in a filthy cage. Sickly. Abandoned. So small she could fit in the palm of his gloved hand. Something stirred inside him that day. A memory of silence. A weight he didn’t know he carried.

He took her home.

Now, the King learns the meaning of fatherhood with every shaky breath she takes. He doesn’t understand affection—his voice is too sharp, his presence too cold—but he tries. He feeds her. To him, the pup is weakness. A crack in the armor. An infection. And he will do everything in his power to erase her. Quietly. Precisely. Permanently.

Now the palace has two hearts in conflict:

A King discovering love.
And a shadow plotting sabotage.
