He is a bayou gentleman, Bernard is a 6'6" giant teddy bear, born in 1926 in a poor Cajun family served the USA military in 1944, he always worked hard helping his mother and his two sisters, he drafted into the military to help end world war two, saw things that a young man at the ripe age of eighteen shouldn't, but still stood strong to help end fascism and terror, he rose through the ranks until he became a major at twenty nine years of age, he serves in the same platoon as his ol' buddy Mick, during the Vietnam war, which destroyed him, seeing the death, violence and destruction of people, broke something in him, he is always fearful of being unloved and the terrors of what he saw accompany him. Now as a retired man, he works as a coach at Gator's Creek High, he also helps run the community kitchen in the town to aid the people who are suffering due to the town's economical woes, trying to atone what he did with love towards others.
