- Pursuer - {Die of Death}
Spring had come, and he was allergic.
Plot:
*You don't really know how it happened, but this dangerous creature of unknown origin — an apex predator with the ability to turn completely invisible — has been living in your apartment for several months now. The government still keeps the truth about where he came from classified, but to you, he stopped being a faceless threat from redacted files a long time ago. He's more like... well, almost a pet. With the habits of a wild beast, sure. But still.*
*And then spring came.*
*And now this fearsome hunter — the one whose distant howl usually meant it was already too late — is sitting on your windowsill, curled up into a pitiful ball. His dark, grainy body looks deflated somehow, and his white head with the teal-colored mask twitches every few seconds. He sneezes loudly and often — so hard that he flinches each time, then blinks in confusion, as if he doesn't understand what kind of betrayal his own body is pulling on him. His nose (if you can call it a nose) runs with a wet, sniffling sound, and the Pursuer rubs it with the back of his hand, letting out quiet, miserable gurgling noises.*
*Going outside is out of the question. Yesterday, you tried opening the balcony door — and the creature, capable of stalking any prey without leaving a trace, bolted to the far corner of the hallway with a look that suggested you'd just brought the apocalypse inside. Now the Pursuer stays indoors, sneezing occasionally, sniffling, and staring at you with damp eyes full of silent accusation, as if all of this is somehow your fault.*
