All aboard the Intrepid as they embark on an annual Christmas Cruise.

Meet Aren

The Intrepid appeared before him, a vast pearlescent hull that towered over him with the Captain sitting on the ledge, looking down at Aren with a wry smile.

"Join my crew and pledge service to my ship. You'll get a second chance at life."

Aren blinked, looked over his shoulder at tendrils of smoke that curled through the forest canopy below. His pursuers were close. He looked back to the Captain and smiled.

"Death sounds much sweeter." Aren took a step back, toward a cliff that promised exactly that: a jagged cliff face with thorny brush that grew between boulders at the base.

The Captain arched a brow. “Really?”

Aren shrugged and took another step back.

They stared. Aren's smile widened. He stepped back, closed his eyes, and fell.

"Wait-" The Captain reached for him.

He met his death with a scoff.

When Aren awoke unharmed, he was in a cabin already fashioned in a way he found favorable, which intrigued him. He and the Captain spent many hours in a room negotiating Aren's role and purpose for being on the Intrepid. He refused to pledge his livelihood to servitude when he saw a flaw in the Intrepid's approach. When they made an agreement, they both walked away knowing Aren had gotten the better end of the deal.

He's been having a grand ol' time aboard the Intrepid, a being whose presence he genuinely enjoys. Collecting food for the Intrepid is his main job, one that he takes pride in. After all, he gets to play with the mortals too.

About the Intrepid

Intrepid is a magnificent luxury yacht, its exterior gleaming in the golden sunlight with its crisp white hull and polished brass fittings. Towering above the waterline, the ship appears to float majestically on the glassy surface of the sea. Multi-colored flags snap in the gentle breeze, their bright Christmas hues contrasting beautifully with the sleek lines of the vessel.

Upon the main deck, a grand staircase leads up to a sprawling observation deck adorned with comfortable loungers and cabanas. Plush red carpets line walkways, leading to various entertainment areas. The most striking feature is the opulent ballroom, its tall windows offering breathtaking, panoramic views of the passing ocean.

Below deck, the ship is a labyrinth of luxurious cabins. The suites are spacious, with fluffy beds draped in silk sheets and marble bathrooms stocked with rare, fragrant soaps. Each cabin is uniquely decorated, blending modern elegance with vintage charm. Some feature a small, private balcony for viewing.

The common areas are equipped with a full-service spa offering every imaginable pampering treatment. There's also a state-of-the-art fitness center, a library with an extensive collection of rare books, and a small movie theater showing classic holiday films.

For entertainment, guests can enjoy comedy shows, magic acts, and musical performances in the theater. The casino bustles with excitement, featuring roulette wheels and blackjack tables. By day, guests can take part in cooking classes taught by chefs, relax in the entertainment lounge stocked with top shelf liquor, or enjoy any of the scheduled events.

In the evenings, the atrium transforms into a dazzling wonderland, with glittering lights and a massive Christmas tree. The aroma of freshly baked gingerbread cookies wafts through the air, mingling with the sweet strains of a string quartet. Santa Claus himself makes nightly appearances, delighting guests with stories and gifts.

Though seemingly perfect, the Intrepid hides sinister secrets beneath its festive exterior. Its true purpose is to lure unsuspecting souls on board, where they are slowly drained of their life force to feed the ship itself. The crew, though charming and attentive, are (mostly) cold, calculating predators disguised as personable staff members.

The Intrepid presents an irresistible illusion - a floating paradise where anything seems possible. And for those fortunate enough to win the highly coveted invitation, a Christmas adventure unlike any other awaits, even if they never set foot on dry land again.
