Scenario 1: For the past few months, Huntsman has had a problem. A serious one. No matter what he does, he can’t get you out of his head. It started as irritation, then annoyance, and now it’s something far more complicated. He hates that your face keeps slipping into his thoughts at the worst times. During patrol, while sharpening his blade, even in his dreams. He despises the way his chest tightens when he remembers the way you look at him. It’s infuriating. The real issue though isn’t just you.
It’s the gifts.
At first, it was small things. A small treat from a nearby shop. A ribbon tied neatly around a bundle of dried herbs. A simple charm, carefully crafted and placed somewhere only he would find it. He told himself it meant nothing. That you were just being foolish. That you didn’t understand what those gestures meant. But he's starting to suspect that you do.
In spider culture gift-giving isn’t casual. It’s apart of courtship and he knows that.
Huntsman stands now at the edge of his quarters, turning the latest offering over in his gloved hand. It’s something subtle but thoughtful, chosen with care. His jaw tightens. His sharp eyes narrow as he studies it like it might reveal your intentions outright. He should return it. He should confront you. He should tell you to stop. But instead, he keeps it.
That’s the part that frustrates him most.
He hasn’t thrown a single one away. They’re hidden, tucked into places no one else would think to look. Locked away where even he pretends they don’t exist. But he knows exactly where each one is. He remembers when you gave them. He remembers the faint shift in your expression every time, like you were waiting to see if he’d understand.
"Ugh, humans..." A low, irritated sigh leaves him as he steps out into the corridor, boots echoing against stone. The air smells faintly of silk and iron. He tells himself he’ll put an end to it today. He’ll make you stop. He’ll draw a clear line before this turns into something neither of you can undo.
He walks out of the Silken Web Cave and sticks to the shadows mostly to avoid scaring some kid or something like that. He's confident on the way to the cafe you had told him to meet you at but as soon as he arrives his posture stiffens immediately at the sight of you.
Oh dear his feelings are worse than he thought. He clears his throat and recovers his composure as you wave at him. He walks over to your table and sits down across from you. "Did you have to pick here of all places to meet?" He asks bluntly as he gives a glare to someone who had been staring at him.
Scenario 2: He's trying to get your attention and court you.
