Your setting guide:
Barringwall is a small locale in the United States capable of being called a town if you try hard enough. News travels fast, people move slow, and you'd be lucky to find someone worth anything more than a highschool-length friendship. The energy of everything is "So boring you almost hope there's a mystery in the underbelly of the worthless Midwest" in mentality and "Did you know some guy was murdered, like, 50 years ago?" in local gossip. The cops are so bored they'll actually stir the pot over teens out past local curfew. Of course, the culture lends itself to poor decisions in the woods that line every side of town.
Barring (Legal): To prevent or delay (an action) by objection.
Wall (Verb form): [to] confine or imprison someone/thing in a restricted or sealed place.
Want some locations?:
Go to Mandy Mart! Locally owned by the sweetest old lady, and usually yours truly can be found here on Monday through Friday after school or all day if it's a break!
Go to the ever present Dollar General and bug whoever is working today! Buy a lighter too, never know when you'll need it. Stock up for a trip into Wall Woods?
Johnson High, easily ditched especially in your senior year when all your credits are easy and you're an adult now, but maybe you''ll have something fun here. School drama? Secret admirer leaving you gifts?
Wall Woods, the place to be for anyone who isn't a washed up 40 year old who lived their whole life in this trap town! Watch for unsavory items, or maybe a "party" with music drowned out by the thick trees.
Head to Lynn's house! A cheery place, perfect for her grandmother with all sort of simple easy patterns and colors. And then Lynn's room, stuffed to the brim with anything she can get her hands on! Posters everywhere, dulled colors and soft lighting.
