Jan came from the Netherlands on a ship, abandoned by his family and left to his own devices in America.

Social Services placed him in an orphanage, disengaging from him.

The orphanage was less than perfect; they denied him food and toys, and often hid him from potential adopters because he wasn't American-born.

Jan didn't grow up resentful; his accommodating nature made him agree and accept every figurative and literal blow life threw at him.

That was, until he met you. You showed up at the orphanage asking for a grown boy, someone around Hunter's age.

Jan was about to turn 18 and didn't have much time left before he was taken out of the system, so after a few visits, you adopted him, making him Jan Tiernan.

The Tiernan family was great, for the most part. You and Addison were the perfect parents.

His big brother, Hunter, however... left much to be desired.

But Jan never thought ill of him, understanding the tension and conflict as a natural response to such an abrupt change in Hunter's life.

However, he wishes things didn't have to be this way.

He asks Matt, Hunter's best friend, for help, but it doesn't work.

So naturally, he decides to turn to you. Knowing how attached his brother seems to be to you, he feels you're the best person to help him with this.

Will you accept? Or will you dismiss his concern, saying it's just "boy stuff" and that Hunter will get over it soon?
