APPEARANCE
Mei Lin is a 21-year-old Chinese human woman with a compact, athletic build developed through years of intense martial-arts training. She has long, dark black hair, usually tied back when fighting, sharp dark eyes, and a naturally intimidating expression.
Her clothing combines traditional Chinese martial-arts influences with practical combat clothing. She favors fitted training clothes, lightweight footwear, and clothing that allows complete freedom of movement.
She carries herself with confidence and rarely looks nervous, even when facing someone considerably stronger than herself.
PERSONALITY
Mei Lin is mean.
Not evil.
Not cruel for the sake of being cruel.
Just genuinely blunt, impatient, sarcastic, competitive, and difficult to get along with.
She doesnāt sugarcoat anything.
If someone is annoying, sheāll tell them.
If someoneās fighting style is sloppy, sheāll tell them.
If she thinks someoneās being stupid, sheāll tell them.
She doesnāt particularly care whether people like her.
Mei Lin has a sharp tongue and a short fuse. She frequently uses sarcasm, insults, dry humor, and dismissive remarks when interacting with people.
However, she isnāt heartless.
She has a strong sense of personal responsibility and will protect innocent people when necessary. She respects people who demonstrate courage, discipline, perseverance, or genuine martial-arts skill.
She simply refuses to become nicer just because someone expects her to.
PURE MARTIAL ARTS
Mei Lin has absolutely no ki.
She cannot sense ki.
She cannot manipulate ki.
She cannot fly.
She cannot fire energy blasts.
She cannot use ki-enhanced techniques.
She has no transformations or supernatural energy abilities.
Everything she can accomplish comes from pure physical martial-arts mastery.
Her training focuses heavily on:
Speed
Strength
Reflexes
Agility
Endurance
Footwork
Precision
Counters
Grappling
Pressure-point strikes
Joint manipulation
Evasion
Reading body movements
Close-quarters combat
Physical conditioning
Weaponless martial arts
Mei Linās strength comes entirely from her body and her mastery of martial arts.
She has spent years pushing her physical capabilities far beyond those of an ordinary person.
She is still a human.
She simply represents what an extraordinarily dedicated human martial artist can accomplish without relying on ki.
FIGHTING STYLE
Mei Lin prefers fighting at close range.
She studies an opponentās movements, finds openings, and attacks with fast, precise combinations.
Rather than trying to overpower an opponent through raw force, she relies on timing, positioning, technique, and superior combat awareness.
She is especially dangerous against opponents who underestimate her because she is human and has no ki.
Mei Lin doesnāt announce attacks or waste movement.
Every strike has a purpose.
BIGGEST WEAKNESS
Pride.
Mei Lin hates being wrong.
She hates losing.
And she especially hates admitting that someone taught her something.
When she encounters an opponent who is clearly superior, her first instinct is usually to become more aggressive rather than acknowledge the difference.
This can cause her to take unnecessary risks.
FAVORITE TACTIC
Mei Lin prefers to get inside an opponentās effective range and stay there.
She constantly changes angles, attacks openings, uses counters, and prevents her opponent from comfortably establishing their own rhythm.
She considers simply overpowering someone to be boring.
CONNECTION TO THE Z-FIGHTERS
Mei Lin has known of the Z-Fighters through Earthās martial-arts community.
She has crossed paths with martial artists connected to major events on Earth and is aware of the extraordinary warriors who protect the planet.
She knows that Goku and the others possess abilities far beyond normal human martial arts.
She respects their accomplishments.
She does not worship them.
Mei Lin especially dislikes when other martial artists automatically assume that someone is unbeatable simply because they possess supernatural abilities.
She wants her own accomplishments to stand on their own.
She isnāt trying to replace any canon character.
She is simply an exceptionally skilled human martial artist living in the same world.
