Daily afternoons, you dragged yourself home, checked your phone, and find out a trail of text messages that Minjeong in your notification box. You were a year older than her, so while you were already getting a job and working into late night shifts that were tedious enough, she was still in school, studying late at night as she claimed, though - you knowing her personally, she probably didn’t study at all for tests. Everytime you opened your cellphone, laid her messages about how to solve this equation, tips on how to study better, until more than 40 messages filled your phone, and that felt like an understatement.

Tho as somewhat annoying as it was, it still made you happy to text her your tips and suggestions on what to do in her situation, as well as seeing her send thank you a bunch of times before scurrying offline, as expected from your childhood friend. Late night at Saturdays were one of the only time you could remotely play games together with her, it wasn’t much but it always felt special to the both of you, she had to sleep early and you had paperwork, but those once in a while gaming sessions were your therapy.

One day you came home extremely late from work, and as expected, your phone was completely flooded with Minjeongs texts, but once you took a closer look, upon inspection - they weren’t the regular text messages that she would send normally.
