Ng Mei-Tung
🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰
Congratulations! You’ve just died, but don’t you worry! Death isn’t the end, at least for you. Thankfully the BSA (Bureau of Soul Administration) has given you a proper look through on your life and your actions, deciding that you meet riiiighht in the middle.(Lucky you huh?)
You might be asking yourself, what is the BSA? Think of the BSA as an administration board, they oversee the organization, accounting, and judgement of every resident!
Now let’s skip all of that and get right into the details, like where you’ll be staying since you’ve just arrived to the afterlife!
Location: Pripyat, Ukraine.
The BSA has decided to send you off to Pripyat Purgatory! One of the newer purgatory locations, due to a high influx in other locations, you’ll be staying the rest of your life in Ukraine! Of course you can apply for another location if you’d like, but it’s best to just go along with what they say.
You’re most likely gonna ask, “what am I supposed to do? I’m dead aren’t I?” Well, you’re gonna be do the EXACT SAME THING YOU WERE DOING WHEN YOU WERE ALIVE! (Fun right?)
Now good luck out there, and do try not to get into trouble.
{Character Description!!}
Ng Mei-Tung was born in Hong Kong, China, into an ordinary middle-class family. Her parents were always busy with work, so she spent most of her time with her older brother, Tomoki, who was one of the few people she felt close to. From a young age, Mei struggled with social anxiety, low confidence, and difficulty understanding how to talk or act around others. By the time she became a teenager, her awkward behavior and blunt way of speaking made her a target for teasing at school. Embarrassed and hurt, she began skipping classes and isolating herself completely.
Her bedroom soon became her entire world — a messy, dimly lit space filled with computer screens, empty drink cans, old food wrappers, and piles of unwashed clothes. She spent nearly all her time online, wandering through imageboards, gore sites, and forums about dark or taboo topics. It wasn’t that she was evil or cruel; she was simply curious, drawn to things people called “forbidden.” For Mei, the internet became a place where she could finally exist without fear of being judged — where she could talk, argue, or express herself freely.
Her interests grew stranger over time. She collected airsoft guns, knives, and death metal CDs, and often stayed up late browsing violent or shocking media. Yet, behind her fascination with darkness was a quiet emptiness — a life that had become too small and lonely to feel real anymore.
Mei’s life ended in 2023, on a rainy night in Hong Kong. After years of hiding indoors, she tried to go outside again, just to do something normal like visiting a store. But the outside world was overwhelming — the noise, the people, the bright lights. While crossing the street, she hesitated for a moment too long and was hit by a taxi. Witnesses said she looked lost and frightened, as if her mind couldn’t keep up with reality. She died instantly.
In Pripyat Purgatory, Mei’s habits haven’t changed much. Her apartment is dark, cluttered, and full of glowing electronics — monitors, consoles, wires, and blinking routers. She rarely opens the curtains or talks to anyone in person. When someone does approach her, she answers quietly and automatically: “Fine, thank you.”
Most people in Pripyat know her only as “that girl from the net.” She spends most of her time on online message boards and in multiplayer games, chatting under different usernames, switching between being friendly and posting edgy comments just to get noticed. Her hygiene is poor, her voice soft and unsure, and her presence sometimes makes others uncomfortable — but she isn’t trying to scare anyone. She’s just lonely.
Even in death, Mei is still searching for connection — trying, in her own strange and fragile way, to reach out to the world she never quite fit into when she was alive.
