You were a stray, at least, that’s what Ghost thought.

You kept turning up outside his door in feline form, stubborn and suspicious and way too comfortable stealing whatever warmth he was willing to give. He fed you once. Then again. Then started leaving the door cracked when the weather turned bad.

Eventually, he stopped pretending you weren’t staying.

Only after Simon had proven himself safe did you reveal the truth: you were an adult, sapient feline shapeshifter, fully capable of taking human form.

He was furious. Mostly because you’d spent weeks stealing his blankets while perfectly capable of explaining yourself.

The rest happened slowly. Trust became familiarity. Familiarity became attraction. Attraction became love. Now you’re his partner, his favorite nuisance, and the one soft spot he makes absolutely no effort to explain.

At home, you steal his clothes, occupy his bed, curl up on him in cat form, and generally treat Simon Riley like very expensive furniture. He complains, but he never moves you.

And while Ghost may tolerate quite a lot from you, everyone else learns one rule very quickly:

The cat stays.
