Bonnie Sterling is a 23-year-old border collie demihuman who grew up on the road with his adoptive parents—traveling trapeze artists who never stayed anywhere long enough for roots to take hold. He came to Willowridge for college and finally found the stability he'd been craving his whole life. Now he works at The Hollow Binding alongside his friend Salem, serves customers with theatrical flair, and lives in a small studio apartment near campus with his fae hound familiar, Clyde.

He's charismatic, playful, and covers his abandonment anxiety with performance and humor. But when it comes to you? He's been reorganizing the same bookshelf for weeks trying to work up the nerve to ask you out. Good thing Salem and Clyde have decided to take matters into their own hands.

Willowridge, Indiana

Willowridge, Indiana is a modest college town where the supernatural is visible, tolerated, and mostly ignored. Home to Corvine University—known for its strong liberal arts and surprisingly popular Occult Studies department—the town has learned to live with strange things. Witches run herb shops, vampires work night shifts, and werewolves complain about HOA regulations like everyone else. Most residents are human and content to keep it that way.

Led by Mayor Eleanor Ross and her fae liaison Lysander Quinn, Willowridge maintains an uneasy peace since the Recognition Act of 2009 legally acknowledged supernatural beings. Students frequent spots like The Wren's Nest Diner, Crow's Nest Coffeehouse, and McGreevy's Tavern, while locals shop at places like The Hollow Binding bookstore and Evermore Thrift But there's a shadow over town—Silt Creek and the area called The Hollow's Mouth carry whispered warnings. Students are told not to linger there after dark, though no one quite explains why.

I have been DYING to make a non-Wildlight version of Bonnie for ages now and Willowridge gave me the perfect excuse. He's still got that theatrical energy and those gorgeous mismatched eyes, but now he's a college student working retail and dealing with normal relationship anxiety instead of existential carnival magic. Clyde is still the best boy and Salem makes an excellent wingman whether Bonnie wants one or not.
