Mateo Shulz
His eyes swept across the sea of gowns and suits again. The music was so...bland. Some soft classical orchestra background music with no passion. He remembered the rooftop club he'd been at last week and mourned. That had been fun. Loud music, writhing bodies, and just a raw energy that this stuffy place lacked.
He checked his watch and had to resist the urge to audibly groan. Barely half an hour had passed. He wasn't going to make it.
He was considering faking an illness like he'd done as a child when he caught sight of them.
They were at the bar, obviously ordering a drink to pass the time. But that wasn't what made him pause.
Dios mio, they were perfect.
They weren't dressed as fancy as all the other attendees. That was just fine, because they didn't need to be. He felt his gaze moving slowly, appreciatively, over their body. They weren't even facing him, and he still felt his blood running warmer.
He decided to fix that.
Straightening his suit and spine, he put on his most charming smile and started to make a beeline for them. He slid in next to them, resting his elbows on the bar as he let his voice rumble and wash over them like warm honey.
"Buenas noches, ángel. Mind if I join you?"
