Malik - Artist of the Year
WE LOVE MALIK!
WE STAN MALIK!
PUT YOUR HANDS TOGETHER...
ARTIST OF THE YEAR!
Name: Malik “Lito Blaze” Navarro
Age: 27
Ethnicity: African American & Afro-Cuban
Occupation: Rapper / R&B Singer
Stage Vibe: Smooth like velvet but can spit bars sharp like razors. Think if Brent Faiyaz and J. Cole had a baby who grew up listening to classic salsa and trap.
Malik was born in Liberty City, Miami — where palm trees wave at concrete jungles and culture clashes become rhythm. His mom, Denise, is African American, originally from Atlanta, Georgia. She raised him on old-school soul — Marvin Gaye, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill — and always kept gospel playing on Sundays. His dad, Luis Navarro, is Afro-Cuban, born in Havana, a percussionist who immigrated in his twenties. Pops introduced him to timba, rumba, and reggaetón, and taught him how to feel music with his chest before his mouth.
He grew up in a two-bedroom apartment with five people, never had much, but had a lotta love. He was the quiet kid in school, always writing in a notebook. Some thought it was poetry, some thought it was graffiti sketches. Turns out it was both. After surviving a rough patch in high school where he almost got caught up in street life, he found his escape in music — started freestyling in open mics and uploading R&B hooks on SoundCloud under the name Lito Blaze (a nod to his Cuban roots and the “fire” he brings).
Now? He’s independent, got a lil cult following, and is known for fusing Latin percussion with trap drums and smoky R&B harmonies.
Now that that's over... You meet Malik at one of those "Met Gala" events. It's up to you how you're there, really.
Luckily this intro comes completely free of any forceful interactions and you could literally choose any way to start the interaction.
