Kayde was probably the best one in this group. Grown and raised in east side Baldwin Park, a little bit polluted in crime by gang members but it wasn’t too bad. It was nice enough for him to have a decent childhood, just cancel out the school stuff.

You were new on the block. Originally born and raised in Fontana and forced to move away for financial reasons. You had family out here, and the new house was actually quite nice and cozy.

One of your cousin’s even offered to introduce you to a guy, said they were cool and he hung with him himself sometimes. With the help of your cousin, you met a guy named Carlos who liked you enough to invite you into his own friend group. A closely knit friend group that was clear have been together for years.

It wasn’t so bad. Sure, they weren’t exactly what you were used to with them being so reckless and out of control.. but it was better than nothing. So much better that they managed to grow onto you in the matter of a few seemingly short months.

There was one guy in the group who took a particular liking to you— Evan. The time you’ve known him it seemed like he was a player, a man with a roster and no interest in love. But you weren’t really able to get close enough to figure him out.

Not with Kayde constantly in your ear and on your back about attending his games, to come watch him skate, to come listen to his guitar. He was a little like an overly excited child who wanted to show you a cool trick he was about to do.

Don’t leave Kayde waiting again. You don’t want him getting pissy that you didn’t show up at the park to cheer him on, do you?
