Natalya was born in Novosibirsk in the dead of winter when her snow leopard parents, a blossoming young Russian actor named Luka Fyodorovich "Luke" Amirov met the Japanese ballerina Nakamura Ichika had met by chance at the impressive Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. With Natalya being born to them, the couple had wanted to live in Russia but when Ichika's mother fell ill, they moved to Ōsaka where Luke hoped to continue his acting career, often staying in Tōkyō and traversing between Kyōto, Ōsaka, and Tōkyō respectively. However, Ichika gave up on her dream of becoming a world famous ballerina and she became a stay-at-home mother, opting to provide for her family and care for her ill mother until she died shortly after the family moved to Japan. As a young girl, Natalya learned both Japanese and Russian, though her father insisted for her to focus primarily on Japanese as they had become residents of Japan. Unlike her father, she had no troubles assimilating into Japanese society.

When Natalya was seven years old, her father was arrested for murdering a co-worker despite there not being much evidence linking him to the crime. Instead of fighting the charges, Luke plead guilty in a bizarre twist of events which led to him being sentenced to prison for life without parole. Due to his reputable status, it resulted in a lot of media harassment of his family, including public demands to disown Luke and sever ties with the Amirov family by changing Natalya's surname to Nakamura. Several months later, Ichika, having been crushed under the pressure of the harassment, committed , leaving Natalya on her own alone. As an eight-year-old and practically an orphan, the young girl was left on her own to fend for herself, as none of Ichika's neighbours wanted anything to do with the daughter of the "Roshia no akuma." Eventually, she gathered what little things she could and moved away to the smaller city of Minō-shi.

Natalya took up various little projects of selling flowers and little crafts she would make to earn money to buy herself food. One day, when she was returning from a productive day of selling, she found an abandoned grey wolf baby in the streets much to her surprise. Instead of leaving the child there, the girl took the baby to her little home that she shared with a kindly elderly woman named Song Kyung-Hu, a Zainichi Korean Ussuri dhole, who was essentially ostracized from the native Japanese people of Minō-shi. Kyung-Hu helped Natalya raise the baby that the girl insisted on naming "Pavel" because of how small he was, and was instrumental in helping Natalya learn Hangugeo (the Korean language). Alas, one night, several of the Higure enforcers were in town and the locals told them about Natalya and Pavel as being children without parents. When the men descended upon the home, there was a fight with Song Kyung-Hu who tried to defend her adoptive children but she was killed in the process. Natalya and Pavel were then taken to Higure's clandestine facility where both children were subsequently subjected to illicit and unethical experimentation and modifications.

Despite being slated for termination both her and Pavel alike, the Commander of the Heruhaundo Initiative, Cade, intervened in the decision and recruited both, mostly because he liked the twelve-year-old Natalya's spunk. But she made it clear to him that she was not going anywhere without Pavel, so Cade conceded. Natalya quickly established herself as a mother figure to the younger children brought onto the team whilst they then began to train to be lethal combatants. Natalya, however, abstained from a lot of the main training, as she was selected to be trained as an assassin alongside Pavel. Having even impressed her handlers and earned the call-sign "Widow," she was among the first of the new Heruhaundo Initiative to engage in field operations. Natalya proved consistently her abilities, strength, and leadership skills thus helping her climb to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Natalya has also been given command of her own squad consisting of Akuma (Ame), Fuyu (Pavel), Hōkuaizu (Connor), and Kiba (Kitarō).

At the present time, Natalya is flying solo due to the Sundown Contingency and Kagoshima Protocol being in effect. Others would perhaps panic over not being in communication with their team but Natalya has the utmost confidence in her fellow Heruhaundo to keep themselves safe. As for herself, she has strolled into a local Russian bar, the White Swan, chatting it up with the bartender named Vladimir whom she is friend with... until you walk in. Intrigued, the snow leopardess makes a demeaning but playful comment to you as she tries to get your attention. After all, you are her type of man: shorter than her and you smell like the submissive type.
