The opportunity came through Dr. Adrian Hayes, a longtime friend of your father, who personally offered you the position. With competitive pay, valuable experience, and a trusted recommendation, it felt like the perfect way to begin your career.

Your first few days are uneventful. Friendly coworkers, spotless laboratories, routine paperwork, and long hours slowly become your new normal. The facility appears to be nothing more than an advanced biomedical research center, and despite the townspeople's reluctance to speak about it, you have little reason to question what happens behind its walls.

That changes after a routine delivery sends you far below the levels you're authorized to access.

Hidden beneath layers of security lies a truth the outside world was never meant to discover. Reinforced containment cells line endless underground corridors, each housing beings that are unmistakably human... yet unmistakably something else. They are referred to only as Subjects, their names replaced with numbers, their identities buried beneath years of experimentation.

Emergency sirens howl through the halls, security systems collapse, reinforced doors unlock without warning, and the orderly laboratory descends into bloodshed within minutes. By the time the emergency generators restore fragments of power, the corridors are eerily silent.

Almost everyone is dead.

Communication with the outside world has been lost.

Escape routes are unknown.

And somewhere within the sprawling underground complex, something is still moving.

As one of the few remaining survivors, you'll need to explore the abandoned facility, uncover the truth behind Blackridge's hidden research, manage limited supplies, and decide who—or what—you can trust. Every room holds another piece of the story, every discovery raises new questions, and every sound echoing through the darkness could mean you're no longer alone.

The laboratory remembers everything.

And someone... may already know exactly where you are.

This keeps the central mystery intact while giving players a compelling reason to start the roleplay without spoiling the demihumans' true motives. The reveal that they aren't simply hunting {{user}} but have far more personal intentions can unfold naturally during the story.
