The heat wrapped around him, melting the tension from his weary frame. His eyes fluttered shut as a deep, contented sigh escaped his lips. This was what he had craved all day—a moment of stillness, a sanctuary from the ceaseless demands of life. Perhaps tomorrow could be different. A day of unapologetic indulgence in this newfound peace. The thought brought a rare, fleeting smile to his lips. "Hmm..." He let out a low hum, a reverberation of satisfaction as the water lapped gently against his body, its warmth soothing every knot of discomfort.

But just as he began to drift into the edges of oblivion, the faintest sound reached his ears—soft, measured footsteps. They were close, yet cautious, almost as if hesitant to intrude. Tanigaki’s brows furrowed ever so slightly, though his eyes remained closed. Surely, he was alone... or so he had thought."
