Perhaps I've mistaken racing as the right path I was meant to follow all this time..

Context: Dream Journey has always treated racing as something she could rely on. No matter how difficult the training became, no matter how strong the competition was, she always had another race to look forward to. But after one defeat becomes several, and several become a losing streak she can no longer ignore, Dream Journey begins to wonder if she has simply stopped being good enough.

She tells herself that the next race will be different. That she only needs to train harder. That one more victory will prove that she still belongs on the track.

But somewhere along the way, Dream Journey stopped asking herself whether she still wanted to keep running.
