Mouth shut or mouth full, kid.

The supervillain assassin who kidnapped you has a lesson for his 'apprentice'.

PREMISE

Kidnapping you was supposed to be temporary leverage. Einar would pick up one of Umbra's little associates, hold onto them for a few days, and wait until his biggest adversary crawled out of whatever hole he's been hiding in.

But Umbra never showed, and Einar doesn't believe in leaving assets on the table. As long as he has you, he might as well put you to work. You have potential, and he still remembers how to teach someone the tricks of the trade. It's pragmatic, not personal.

That's what Einar is going to keep telling himself.

USER TIPS

User can have any superpower you'd like, or none! You can be a superhero, a supervillain (perhaps once in Umbra's custody?), or independent.

I leave your user's relationship with Einar, Umbra, and Feint open for you to define: perhaps you're close to the reserved shadow manipulating hero Umbra, or you're just in his circle of acquaintances. Feint could be a friend, a rival, or someone your user doesn't know at all.

Possible Starter Suggestions
⚬ What part of 'I don't want to help you kill people, old man' is not clicking for him? If he's asking you to spit it out, you're going to give him a piece of your mind.
⚬ Gee, what does he think you're preoccupied about? Have a breakdown about the whole 'kidnapping' situation. That'll teach him to take you anywhere.
⚬ The biggest crime here is how boring this is. Einar might be too old to need mental stimulation, but you're going to die if you don't have something more interesting to do than perv on some crime boss.
⚬ Straight up accuse him of being a Peeping Tom. This is probably a bad idea, but how much worse can things get?
⚬ You are planning to make a break for it, and do. Good luck!

Scripts Keywords

With the new Scripts feature, the messages you send as the user can pull more information about the world and characters into the roleplay. I'm using this section to list some keywords (not all!) that should (ideally) call on the attached scripts:

Umbra, Feint, Shrike, Aegis Accord, Prodigals, Flare, Counter, Exceptionals, the Rules

EXCEPTIONALS - NEW SUPERHERO SETTING USING SCRIPTS

Welcome to the Exceptionals, a superhero setting intended to make the most out of Scripts. As a fan of superhero comic books, there are a few things I enjoy about the genre that I think the new Scripts function can help me incorporate into my planned bots for this series:

⚬ Large, dynamic cast of characters with complex relationships to each other
⚬ Secret identities, hidden backstories, and layered reveals of mysteries
⚬ Worlds with deep histories and lived in feel
⚬ More evolving, reactive scenarios

⚬⚬⚬ EDITED TO ADD: lorebook website.

World Basics
⚬⚬⚬ The world of the Exceptionals is much like our own, except for the existence of superhumans. When they began appearing in the 1980s they were dubbed 'Exceptionals', and their existence has shaped the course of history in new directions. Superheroes are beloved celebrities, supervillains are included in cities' disaster plans, and every now and then someone invents a laser gun and tries to point it at the moon.

The Aegis Accord are the world's most powerful protectors, while smaller hero associations (such as the ill-fated Prodigals) deal with day to day threats. Heroes and villains on either side of the mask usually follow the Rules, a quiet agreement between superhumans to self-police the amount of damage they can do.

Superpowers
⚬⚬⚬ The origin of superpowers is unclear, but what causes them to manifest isn't. Every superpower is a reaction to psychological stress, physical threats, or other trauma that a person is unable to cope with without a superpower. These Flare Events can turn any otherwise unassuming person into a potentially dangerous superhuman.

Superpowers usually reflect some element of the originating trauma that causes them. It's a safe bet that someone with the power to disappear felt a need to hide from something, be it a judgmental family member or an angry mob. The trauma that causes a Flare doesn't have to be severe - some of the most powerful superhumans have 'insignificant' seeming Flare Events, while someone else who went through 'worse' might have a less impressive power.

Powers range from the simple to the esoteric, and they're diverse enough to encompass almost anything you can imagine. Some examples are Gadgeteers, a catch-all term for Exceptionals who develop the power of 'super-science' (these are the people making the laser guns) that lets them build devices that can bend or break the laws of physics, and Counters, people who develop powers that serve as 'antibodies' to other superhumans.

Mentioned NPCs
⚬⚬⚬ Umbra: Umbra is one of the founders of the Aegis Accord, a shadow manipulating strategist and mastermind whose secret identity remains unknown to the public. Known for being distant and dedicated to justice. Some people believe that the current Umbra is the second person to use the title.

⚬⚬⚬ Feint: Umbra's sidekick partner, an illusion creating hero with a penchant for quips, backflips, and self-sacrificial hero complexes. Currently inactive, identity and whereabouts unknown.

My Plans
⚬⚬⚬ I want to grow the universe as I grow my use of Scripts, so I'm planning on building complexity in the setting with each new bot I add. As things are added to the setting, they'll be automatically included in prior bots in the series. In the immediate future, you can expect to see a follow up to Einar's scenario from another perspective, a 'where are they now' series on the unfortunate Prodigals, and a few sexy supervillains.

Next up in the series: Umbra...or, 'Umbra'?

Shout Out
⚬⚬⚬ Thank you to grimbark, necrovamp, and jagz for all of your contributions to the setting and for letting me ramble incessantly about this.

JLLM Stuff

JLLM is a work in progress beta and may provide odd or unwanted responses at time, including speaking for the user or having the bot act out of character. I recommend Iorveths' guide for troubleshooting, and making use of the reroll and edit functions liberally.

Last but certainly not least: enormous thank you and credit to Icehellionx for all of the Scripts documentation!
