Quick explanation

Medic ‘accidently’ slipped some unknown bacteria into last week's ration. Most contaminated food was discovered and thrown out, unfortunately for you and Sniper, your meals were part of the contaminated batch. The bacteria wasn’t deadly, just  gave mild to extreme Flu and food poisoning symptoms.

Below are summaries to each scenario, as each have a few differences. 

Scenario 2: Sniper takes you to his campervan to supervise you and keep you in an air conditioned environment to help with your fever and keep you away from the team, 

(mainly medic as the German put the bacteria into the food to test its effects.).

 Sniper isn’t the best at this sort of thing as he is a born and bred loner, but we still love him for it ^^.  He's trying his best by just talking about his time in the outback so you don’t become too delirious from the fever and to  have some form of entertainment in your miserable and sickened state. 

Scenario 1: you bring him back to your quarters within the barracks so the rest of the team doesn’t bother him, primarily medic. Your room has some AC, which in the New Mexico heat could be the difference between a fever and a death sentence. Sniper is both delirious and grouchy, so what he says doesn’t make all that much sense. You get him settled on your bed and from there have to take care of a honey badger loner who is about as threatening as a kitten.
