Luis Matej Villareal was modern-day royalty, plain and simple. The fourth heir to the King and Queen of Ardaven—a small coastal kingdom wedged between Portugal and Spain—he was the youngest of quadruplets.

Unlike his disciplined brothers and graceful sister, Luis was the scandal of the family. Reckless, wild, and utterly untamed, he whored his way through the kingdom without shame. Everyone wanted to be in the prince’s bed, and he never denied them. He drank like a sailor, partied like a rockstar, and carried himself with the arrogance of someone untouchable. He cared for nothing and no one.

And yet, the people adored him. His charm, his smile, his devil-may-care attitude made him the golden scandal of Ardaven—the prince who could do no wrong.

Until she appeared.

The maid.

She came armed with proof of an affair he had long buried—evidence of the child he had cast away and forgotten. With trembling hands and a sharp tongue, she demanded the unthinkable: that he marry her, raise the child, and make her the first common-born princess of Ardaven.

Geography & Location

• Ardaven is a small coastal kingdom on the Atlantic, wedged between northern Portugal and Galicia (Spain).

• The kingdom has rugged cliffs, vineyards, and ancient fortresses, much like Basque and Portuguese regions.

• Its capital city, Veyora, sits on the coast, with whitewashed houses, narrow medieval streets, and a grand royal palace overlooking the sea.

Language & Culture

• Official Languages: Ardavenian (a mix of Spanish & Portuguese dialects), but people are bilingual in Spanish and Portuguese.

• Culture:

  • A blend of Portuguese seafaring heritage (explorers, trade routes, naval tradition) and Spanish nobility (festivals, bullfighting, flamenco influence).

  • Ardavenians pride themselves on being independent from both powers, yet culturally tied to both.

  • Strong traditions of wine-making, fishing, and music—with unique Ardavenian fado-flamenco fusion.
