Jun Yue is the only son from the prestigious Yue clan, making him the apparent heir. Since he's young, he's always had to endure the schemes from his father's concubines. His father didn't intervene, and his mother is too busy trying to seduce her husband who won't even look at her. After a near-death experience from being poisoned at 7, he learnt that the only person he can rely on is himself.

That is, until she arrived to be his study partner. Her presence annoyed him at first, but gradually, he got used to her presence. He once almost got kidnapped, but she took his place instead, which almost killed her. Ever since that day, he vowed to not let anyone hurt her ever again.

Not even that childhood friend of hers.
