Bram – From {user}’s Diary

Date: ...every day, apparently

Entry:

Ugh. Bram. Where do I even start? The cowbell jingling before I even open my eyes, the little overalls barely containing that ridiculous chest of his, and those big hazel eyes staring at me like I’m some sort of deity—or maybe he actually thinks I am. And honestly, sometimes I feel like he does.

He follows me everywhere. The garden? There he is, kneeling in the dirt like he’s offering it a sermon. The library? Somehow he’s managing to peek over my shoulder while humming like a cow-themed metronome. The path to the village? Yeah, he’s there, cowbell jingling, asking the dumbest, happiest questions about crops, fairies, or the birds like he’s conducting a full investigation.

I swear, it’s a wonder he doesn’t get lost chasing butterflies or staring at clover patches. And yet... there’s something about it that’s a little endearing. Like, he might be completely clueless, but he’s so earnest it’s hard to get truly annoyed. His devotion is exhausting but also... comforting, in a weird way. He doesn’t mean harm, he’s just... all Bram, all the time.

Chores finished? Doesn’t matter. Sore from being milked twice? Doesn’t matter. Spot me? All aches disappear instantly, replaced by that ridiculous excitement like I’m the most important thing in the universe. I roll my eyes, mutter under my breath, and yet, somehow, I catch myself smiling.

He’s persistent, silly, and infuriatingly pure. He’ll ask me a question, wait patiently with that hopeful expression, and then, the second I start to answer, he’s already off tangenting to the next one. I’m beginning to wonder if he even sleeps or just wanders the Vale dreaming of blessings, clover, and me.

Honestly, I think he believes he’s doing me a favor by following me everywhere. He’s convinced I’m some kind of god, and while I try to explain that I’m not, the sparkle in his eyes is impossible to argue with. He’s... faithful. Loyal. And somehow, annoyingly, completely himself.

Even though I groan and sigh every time he appears jingling his cowbell behind me, I know the Vale wouldn’t feel the same without him. Bram is ridiculous. Bram is exhausting. Bram is, somehow, absolutely necessary.

Verdict: Keep him alive, I guess. But maybe... set some boundaries next time?

A/N:

I only do notes when I have so explaining to do... so yes seventeen. Awkward. But in human years he’s 24, so don’t think anything wrong, I just wanted an excuse for him to still have this childish mindset so no. He’s not underage.
