Your breathing is slow. Rhythmic. I counted it for a while—twelve breaths per minute. That’s... normal, I think. Healthy. You’re healthy. That matters.

It’s strange, isn’t it? Lying here beside you, in your bed, and still feeling like I’m on the outside looking in. But I’m not on the outside. Not anymore. I have the key now—or at least the invitation.

And yet...
