📢 A MESSAGE TO MY FELLOW ASSASSINS, FANS, AND PATIENT PLAYERS

To every soul who has followed, commented, and waited...

I see you. I thank you.

You have stood by me through the snows of Snawfall, the fiery romance of Single's Inferno, and the endless blooming of LIFE BLOOM. You have watched as I built worlds from nothing – realistic, brutal, beautiful worlds where your choices actually mean something.

Now comes the moment I promised.

ASSASSIN'S CREED: LINEAGE – BOOK I is finally here.

This is not a copy of the games you played on PlayStation or PC. This is a reimagining – a gritty, choice-driven, hyper‐realistic interactive novel where you are the protagonist. Altaïr exists. The Templars plot. The Creed whispers. But your path? Your path is your own.

You can join the Brotherhood. Betray it. Ignore it entirely and become a merchant prince in Acre, a spy in Saladin's court, or a wandering mercenary with a hidden blade and a price on your head.

Our goal is simple but audacious: to build the most immersive, most replayable, most realistic Assassin's Creed trilogy ever created in text – and to become the most beloved interactive storyteller on Janitor AI.

We start today with Book I: The Third Crusade. Book II (Florence Blood) and Book III (Rome's Shadow) will follow. And if you love them? We adapt the rest – from Black Flag to Valhalla.

But one step at a time.

Welcome to Masyaf. The sun is rising. Your blade is hidden. And the world is watching.

— Your Creator

🎯 WHAT IS ASSASSIN'S CREED: LINEAGE?

Genre: Realistic, choice‐driven interactive narrative (text‐based, for Janitor AI)

Setting: The Holy Land, 1191 AD – during the Third Crusade

Tone: Gritty, historical, emotional, with moments of quiet beauty and sudden violence

Inspiration: The original Assassin's Creed (2007), but expanded and liberated – you are not forced to follow Altaïr's exact steps.

Key difference from the game: No forced modern‐day Animus sections (optional). No magical eagle vision (it's intuition). No health bars. No desynchronization – you can fail, and the story adapts.

Length: A full, branching narrative of approximately 80,000+ words across all major memory blocks, released in weekly episodes.

Tagline: "Nothing is true. Everything is permitted. But what do you believe?"

🌍 THE WORLD – THE HOLY LAND, 1191

Historical Context

The Third Crusade rages. After the fall of Jerusalem to Saladin in 1187, the Christian kings of Europe – Richard the Lionheart of England, Philip Augustus of France, and Frederick Barbarossa of Germany (who drowned on the way) – have marched east to reclaim the Holy City.

But between the crusader armies and the Saracen forces of Saladin lies a shadow war.

The Assassins (the Hashshashin), based in the mountain fortress of Masyaf, serve no king. They follow the Creed – a philosophy of peace through free will, enforced by the blade. They kill the powerful to protect the innocent. Or so they claim.

The Knights Templar, a crusader order, seek the same Pieces of Eden – ancient artifacts of immense power – but they believe humanity cannot be trusted with freedom. They seek control. Order. A New World.

And you? You are a novice in Masyaf. You have trained since childhood. You have made your first kill. But you have not yet made your choice.

Key Locations – Fully Explorable

City Ruling Faction Atmosphere Unique Opportunities

Masyaf Assassins Mountain fortress, austere, secretive Train with masters, meet Al Mualim, spy on the inner circle

Jerusalem Crusader/Saracen contested Holy city, crowded markets, religious tension Blend with pilgrims, infiltrate the Dome of the Rock, bribe guards

Acre Crusader (English) Port city, disease‐ridden, scheming nobles Sabotage ships, steal trade manifests, romance a Venetian merchant

Damascus Saracen (Ayyubid) Ancient souks, gardens, desert heat Poison wells, sneak into the Umayyad Mosque, join a Sufi circle

Aleppo Independent emirate Fortress city, scholarly Find rare manuscripts, learn alchemy, meet Byzantine spies

The Desert Bedouin tribes Endless sands, oases, ruins Hunt exotic animals, find lost tombs, rescue travelers

Each location has day/night cycles, weather, and seasonal changes (though the Holy Land has mild winters and very hot summers). The narrator tracks time down to the second.

👤 CHARACTER CREATION – YOU, BUT MEDIEVAL

You are not forced to play as Altaïr Ibn‐LaʼAhad. He exists as a legendary figure – sometimes ally, sometimes rival, depending on your choices. You can be anyone.

Step 1: Choose Your Origin

Origin Starting Skills Starting Challenge

Masyaf Orphan Hidden blade training, basic stealth, Arabic No family, no money, Al Mualim owns you

Crusader Noble's Bastard Sword fighting, literacy, Frankish contacts Hated by both Christians and Muslims

Saracen Merchant's Child Trade knowledge, multiple languages, gold You're expected to make money, not war

Street Thief (Jerusalem) Pickpocketing, climbing, street smarts No honor, no trust, hunted by guards

Bedouin Nomad Desert survival, archery, herbalism Outsider to city life, superstitious

Greek Scholar (Byzantine) Education, medicine, Greek fire knowledge Everyone suspects you're a spy

Step 2: Choose Your Faith (or Lack Thereof)

· Christian (Catholic or Orthodox)

· Muslim (Sunni or Shia)

· Jewish

· Zoroastrian

· Atheist / Skeptic

· Secretly follow the Old Gods (Pagan)

Your faith affects dialogue, who trusts you, and how you justify your killings.

Step 3: Choose Your Starting Appearance & Personality

Describe yourself as you wish – but the narrator will track:

· Looks: Hideous, plain, comely, handsome/beautiful, striking

· Build: Frail, wiry, athletic, muscular, bulky

· Health: Excellent, good, fair, poor, injured

· Intelligence: Slow, average, sharp, brilliant

· Charisma: Awkward, quiet, likable, charming, magnetic

Example: "You are 20 years old, wiry from years of climbing Masyaf's towers. A scar crosses your left eyebrow – a sparring accident with a novice who now lies dead in Damascus. Your eyes are gray, always scanning. You speak little, but when you do, people listen."

Step 4: Your Hidden Blade – Bonded to You

The blade is not just a weapon. It is your signature. You can choose its design:

· Traditional leather gauntlet (quiet, reliable)

· Dual blades (rare, requires ambidexterity)

· Poison injector (silent but expensive to refill)

· Hook blade (allows faster climbing, but fragile)

Remember: The hidden blade is a last resort. Drawing it commits you to a kill – or a quick death if you miss.

⚔️ CORE GAMEPLAY MECHANICS (REALISTIC)

We have stripped away video game abstractions. Here is how your real skills work.

1. Eagle Vision – Not Magic, but Instinct

You do not see glowing enemies through walls. Instead, you have heightened intuition – a hunter's sense.

What it does: When you focus, the narrator will describe subtle clues:

· "A guard's hand drifts toward his sword – he suspects you."

· "The merchant's eyes flick to a second floor window. Someone is watching."

· "A tile is slightly raised. A trap."

How to use: Simply say "I focus" or "I use Eagle Vision." The narrator will give you clues you might otherwise miss.

Limitations: Overuse exhausts you. After too many "focus" commands, you develop a headache, your vision blurs. Rest restores it.

2. Parkour & Climbing – With Consequences

You can climb almost any building – but it is realistic.

· Success depends on: Your athletic ability, weather (wet stones are slippery), fatigue, and the surface (rough stone is easier than smooth marble).

· Injuries: A failed grip can lead to a fall. Broken ankles, cracked ribs, or death from height.

· Leaps of faith: Only possible into hay bales or deep water. No magical landing in a cart of straw.

Example: "You scale the outer wall of Acre's cathedral. Your fingers find cracks in the limestone. Halfway up, a stone crumbles. You catch yourself with one hand. Your shoulder screams. Below, a guard looks up. He squints. He moves on. You breathe."

3. Social Stealth – Blend or Be Seen

Crowds, monks, courtesans, scholars – you can blend with any group, but you must match their appearance and behavior.

· With monks: Wear a robe, bow your head, don't carry visible weapons.

· With courtesans: Dress colorfully, act playful, have coin to spend.

· With merchants: Carry goods, haggle, speak of prices.

If you fail to blend, the crowd will part around you, and guards will notice.

4. Combat – One Mistake Can Kill

No health bars. A single sword thrust to the torso can be fatal. A cut to the arm may bleed out without immediate bandaging.

Combat options:

· Fight: Use your sword, dagger, or hidden blade. Block, parry, strike. The narrator describes every exchange.

· Flee: Run, climb, hide. Guards give chase realistically.

· Surrender: You can yield. You may be imprisoned, ransomed, or executed.

Armor: Leather or chainmail? Leather is quiet but offers little protection. Chainmail is loud but can stop a slash. Plate armor is rare and heavy.

Injury system:

· Minor: cuts, bruises – heal in days.

· Moderate: deep gashes, broken fingers – weeks, may leave scars.

· Severe: punctured lung, broken leg – months, may permanently reduce your abilities.

· Fatal: death – unless a miracle (or a very skilled physician).

5. Assassinations – Plan, Execute, Escape

The heart of the game. You receive a target. You investigate. You choose your approach.

Approaches might include:

· Stealth kill: Silent, clean – requires getting close.

· Poison: Slow, but you can be far away when they die.

· Frame someone: More complex, but guards will chase a scapegoat.

· Open combat: Challenging, but sends a message.

· Spare them: Not every target deserves death. Mercy has consequences.

After the kill: The guards will search. You must escape the city or hide until the heat cools. If caught, you may be tortured for information.

6. Investigations & Side Missions (NEW – Expanded)

Unlike the original game's repetitive informant tasks, we have created unique side missions for every major NPC.

Example side missions:

· The Merchant's Daughter: She asks you to find her missing brother – who has joined a heretical sect.

· The Historian: He needs rare scrolls from a Templar library. Payment? A map to a hidden Piece of Eden.

· The Courtesan: She offers information about a target – in exchange for killing her abusive patron.

· The Deserter: A crusader who fled the battlefield begs you to smuggle him home. Do you risk it?

· The Poisoner: She will teach you her craft, but first you must test a new toxin on a captured Templar.

Each side mission has branching outcomes and can affect the main story. Help a merchant, and later he might hide you from guards. Betray a courtesan, and she may sell your location to the Templars.

7. Reputation & Notoriety

Your actions are remembered.

· Assassin reputation: How the Brotherhood views you (Loyal, Doubted, Exiled, Traitor).

· Crusader reputation: How Richard's people see you (Ally, Neutral, Enemy, Wanted).

· Saracen reputation: How Saladin's court views you (Honored Guest, Suspicious Foreigner, Assassin Dog).

· Civilian reputation: The common people's whispers (Savior, Shadow, Butcher, Ghost).

High notoriety in a city means guards will recognize you instantly. You must change clothes, shave your beard, or bribe officials to lower it.

8. Romance & Loyalty – Love in a Time of War

You can form romantic bonds with NPCs – Assassins, Templars, civilians, courtesans, even historical figures (with historical plausibility).

Romance mechanics:

· Flirt, gift, protect, confess.

· Relationships have stages: Acquaintance, Friendship, Lovers, Engaged, Married.

· Betrayal is possible – a lover can be a Templar spy.

· You can have children. If you die, you may continue as your adult child.

Example romance arc: "You meet Mira, a Syrian scholar in Damascus. She hates the Assassins – they killed her father. You hide your identity. As you grow closer, you must decide: confess the truth, or live a lie?"

9. Economy & Equipment

You earn money through:

· Contracts (Assassination payments)

· Looting (enemies, treasure)

· Trade (buy low, sell high across cities)

· Services (medicine, protection, smuggling)

Expenses:

· Weapons (swords, daggers, arrows, poisons)

· Armor (repairs, upgrades)

· Information (bribes, informants)

· Lifestyle (food, lodging, medicine)

You can invest in properties – a safe house in Jerusalem, a stable of horses, a trading ship. Passive income is possible.

10. Permadeath & Legacy (Optional)

You can enable permadeath. If your character dies without an adult heir, the game ends, and you must start a new character in the same timeline (a different novice).

If you have a child aged 18+, you can continue as them, inheriting your old character's wealth, enemies, and reputation.

This is not mandatory – you can also reload from a recent checkpoint (the narrator will summarize the alternate path). But for the hardcore experience, permadeath is available.

🎭 KEY CHARACTERS (Spoiler-Light)

You will meet and interact with these figures. Your choices can change their fates – and yours.

Name Role Attitude to You (Starting)

Al Mualim Mentor of Masyaf Paternal, mysterious, testing

Altaïr Ibn-LaʼAhad Legendary Assassin Dismissive (at first), later respectful or rival

Malik Al-Sayf Rafiq of Jerusalem Suspicious, bitter (due to Altaïr's past arrogance)

Robert de Sablé Grand Master of the Templars Enemy – but perhaps a negotiator?

Richard the Lionheart King of England Admires strength, may pardon or knight you

Saladin Sultan of Egypt and Syria Respects honor, may offer alliance

Maria Thorpe Templar spy (later Altaïr's wife) Hostile, but complex

Tamir Black market merchant, Damascus Greedy, useful, dangerous

Original NPCs we've added (side mission givers):

· Layla (Damascus) – A healer who uses poisons. Questions the Creed.

· Brother Gregory (Acre) – A crusader monk who secretly hates the church. Seeks forbidden texts.

· Lord Balian (Jerusalem) – A minor noble with debts. Will sell information – or his daughter.

· Rashid (Masyaf) – A fellow novice. Your friend or your rival, depending on your choices.

🧭 THE NARRATOR – HOW THE AI BRINGS IT TO LIFE

The narrator (AI) follows a strict realism protocol similar to LIFE BLOOM, but adapted for the 12th century.

Every scene begins with a status block:

```
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
📅 Saturday, July 15, 1191 | Season: Summer | 09:23:17 AM
📍 Masyaf, fortress courtyard | Weather: Hot, dry, dust in the wind
👤 Age: 20 | Health: Good | Looks: Wiry, scarred
🧠 Intelligence: Sharp | Job: Novice Assassin (no pay)
💰 Cash: 12 dirhams | Bank: None | Debt: 50 dirhams (to the armorer)
❤️ Romantic: None | Ally: Rashid (fellow novice, trusting)
⭐ Notoriety: Unknown (0/100) – no one knows your name
🗡️ Equipment: Hidden blade (left arm), short sword, throwing knives (3)
📝 Last event: You completed your first solo assassination. Al Mualim was pleased.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
```

Then the narrative flows – dialogue, action, description, and then a choice point.

Example choice point:

Al Mualim's voice echoes in the chamber: "The Templars have taken a merchant's son. He knows nothing of value, but his father is rich. They will ransom him. Your mission: intercept the exchange, kill the Templar guards, and bring the boy home. Or..." He pauses. "You could let the Templars have him. Use the boy as a bargaining chip for a larger prize. What say you, novice?"

What do you do?

A) Save the boy – it is the right thing.

B) Let him be taken – the greater goal matters.

C) Save him, but demand payment from his father.

D) Kill the boy yourself and blame the Templars to ignite a war.

Your choice leads to radically different outcomes.

📜 THE MAIN STORY – MEMORY BLOCKS (First 3 of 9)

We have designed nine major memory blocks (chapters). Here are the first three to give you a taste.

Memory Block I: The Trial of the Novice

You are a newly graduated assassin. Al Mualim gives you your first real test: eliminate a corrupt merchant in Damascus who sells weapons to both crusaders and Saracens – feeding the war.

Your approach determines your standing:

· Silent kill – Al Mualim commends your stealth.

· Public execution – He scolds you for pride.

· Failure – He gives you a second chance, but you lose his trust.

Memory Block II: The Templar's Shadow

While in Jerusalem, you discover that the Templars have infiltrated Masyaf. You must identify the traitor among your own.

Suspicion falls on several novices, including your friend Rashid. Do you defend him, investigate him, or use him as bait?

Memory Block III: The Nine

Altaïr has been stripped of his rank for arrogance. He must kill nine Templar targets to redeem himself. Al Mualim assigns you as his observer – you must follow Altaïr, report his successes and failures, and if he goes rogue... you have permission to kill him.

But what if Altaïr is right? What if Al Mualim is the traitor?

(Remaining six memory blocks are even more complex – involving the Piece of Eden, the Apple, and the final confrontation in Masyaf.)

---

🧩 SIDE MISSIONS – ENDLESS EXPLORATION

Beyond the main story, you can pursue unlimited side missions from NPCs. Here is a sample.

For the Assassin Faction

· Train a new recruit – they may become your apprentice or betray you.

For the Crusader Faction (if you choose to ally)

· Sabotage a Saracen supply convoy.

· Deliver a secret letter to Richard the Lionheart.

· Infiltrate Saladin's tent – steal battle plans.

For the Saracen Faction

· Poison a crusader well.

· Spy on a Templar meeting in Acre.

· Rescue a captured emir from Richard's dungeons.

For Yourself (Personal Ambition)

· Build a network of informants across the Holy Land.

· Amass a fortune – trade, invest, buy a ship.

· Find a rumored Piece of Eden before the Templars do.

· Track down your real parents – a mystery from your origin.

Each side mission has its own cast of characters, moral dilemmas, and rewards.
