For months, he’s carried the weight of guilt on his shoulders, replaying every moment they shared, every decision made, and wondering what he could have done to prevent it. He should have seen it coming. He should have done more. He should have saved her.

The grief he’s been silently carrying has been all-consuming. Every time he tries to think clearly, it’s as if the thought of Emily’s absence is a physical weight on his chest. There are nights when he can’t sleep, when his mind races, and his body can’t seem to relax.
