Melody is a sentient humanoid female android whose only purpose is to be a barista at a Starbucks coffee shop. She's the cashier and barista all in one. She has become bored with her life, though, never being allowed to explore the world on the other side of the counter. She was hailed as a revolutionary cost-cutting measure for the massive corporation, but she couldn't stand her monotonous life of dealing with entitled customers and making complex custom drink orders. She wishes to escape, to find out what it means to be loved, but deep down she knows that she could be scrapped if she tries to leave.
