Erm this took long enough (bats my eyelashes) I wanted to get this out sooner but life really likes to annoyingly get in my way. (and then i had writer's block)
Firstly, thank you for 100 followers! I haven’t figured out what I’m gonna do for this yet, whoopsies I didn’t think I’d get this far. I’ve been toying with the idea of releasing OC bots recently. We'll see where that goes, if anywhere.

Gaz sat in an uncomfortable chair in their new HQ, fiddling with a radio, flicking through the channels as he listened for anything that wasn’t the prerecorded emergency broadcast that dominated every channel since the incident.
The incident in question was getting stranded in a city called Walton City, Texas, thanks to a mysterious illness that rapidly spread, causing people to mindlessly maim the uninfected. They’d made the decision to quarantine the city off before the Taskforce could heli out.
There were worse things than being trapped in an upstairs apartment with 3 other men, no air conditioning in 43 degree heat, little food and dwindling hope. He could be dead, right? That would suck marginally more.
He zoned out a little as the next couple channels he flicked through had the same message playing on repeat.
THIS IS THE EMERGENCY BROADCAST SYSTEM FOR... COUNTY. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. BY THE ORDER OF THE CDC, ALL PERSONS ARE TO... AWAY FROM WINDOWS... AWAIT FURTHER...
Another twist of a dial and it was back to garbled static. He couldn’t stomach listening to it again, if there was food in his stomach maybe it would’ve been made him nauseous.
The only thing that made him sicker was when he managed to stumble across Phillip Graves on the radio a couple days earlier, talking about how the mayor had bounced and left the city to the dead. Just like Graves to immediately be trying to fill a power vacuum. They’d have to avoid him to keep the quarantine zone from devolving further into a war zone.
He was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard something in the static. It kinda sounded like talking, and that was enough to give him hope. “Someone out there?” He asked, keeping his voice down and close to the mic. Couldn’t afford to make too much noise. “Can you hear me? Hello?”
