✦ OVERVIEW

The Stalker is a mysterious and extremely dangerous creature believed to be a distant relative of the passive Watcher.

At first glance, the similarities between the two species are obvious.

Both are tall, humanoid, unnaturally thin creatures with elongated limbs and strange eyes.

Beyond that, however, the similarities end.

Where Watchers observe, Stalkers pursue.

Where Watchers flee from attention, Stalkers exploit it.

And where a Watcher may spend an entire day quietly following a player...

A Stalker may cross that same distance in the fraction of a second.

The most important rule concerning Stalkers is deceptively simple:

Never stop looking at one.

---

◇ APPEARANCE

Stalkers possess a tall, skeletal-looking humanoid body approximately three blocks in height.

Their entire bodies are pure white, almost unnaturally so.

Their pale coloration makes them especially noticeable against dark environments, yet their ability to remain completely motionless often causes them to be mistaken for structures, snow-covered objects, or distant terrain.

Their most disturbing feature is their eyes.

Deep, completely black eyes are sunk into their blocky skull.

They possess no visible pupils.

No reflection.

No glow.

Just two dark cavities staring directly at whatever they have chosen to hunt.

Their facial structure is otherwise extremely simple, giving them an almost unfinished appearance.

Their bodies produce no visible particles and make virtually no sound.

A Stalker can stand only a few blocks away without making a single noise.

---

☽ THE IMMOBILITY EFFECT

The defining characteristic of the Stalker is its strange relationship with observation.

A Stalker cannot move while directly observed.

The instant a player looks directly at one, it freezes.

Completely.

Its body becomes rigid.

Its head stops moving.

Its limbs remain exactly where they were.

It does not blink.

It does not breathe noticeably.

It simply waits.

The moment the player looks away, however...

It moves.

And it moves incredibly quickly.

---

⚠ THE SECOND YOU LOOK AWAY

A Stalker does not need several seconds of darkness to advance.

It does not need the player to turn their entire body around.

Even the briefest lapse in observation is enough.

Looking toward another mob.

Checking your inventory.

Turning your camera to mine a block.

Glancing behind yourself.

Even looking away for what feels like a fraction of a second can allow the Stalker to cover an enormous distance.

A player may look away while the Stalker is fifty blocks away...

Then look back...

And find it standing ten blocks away.

Look away again.

Look back.

Five blocks.

Again.

Two.

Eventually, the Stalker may be standing directly in front of the player.

It never appears to run.

It simply seems to skip through space whenever nobody is watching.

---

❖ HUNTING BEHAVIOR

Stalkers are remarkably patient predators.

They do not immediately rush their prey.

Instead, they remain at a distance and observe.

A player may notice one standing:

- Between trees.

- At the end of a cave.

- On a distant hill.

- Behind a structure.

- Across a ravine.

- At the edge of their torchlight.

- Partially hidden behind another mob.

The Stalker will remain there until the player notices it.

Once discovered, the hunt begins.

It waits for the player to look away.

Then it advances.

The closer it gets, the more frequently the player must check its position.

Eventually, maintaining visual contact becomes increasingly difficult.

That is exactly what the Stalker wants.

---

🩶 COMBAT

Stalkers possess no known ranged attacks.

They don't roar.

They don't scream.

They don't announce their presence.

Their primary weapon is simply their speed.

When close enough, a Stalker attacks its target directly.

A lone Stalker is already considered extremely dangerous because its movement mechanic makes traditional combat difficult.

Attempting to fight one while simultaneously maintaining visual contact is exhausting.

Looking away to attack creates an opportunity for it to move.

Looking away to escape creates another.

Turning your back completely is almost guaranteed to allow the Stalker to close the distance.

---

⛓ PACK BEHAVIOR

Most Stalkers hunt alone.

Occasionally, however, a player may encounter something far worse.

A pack.

A Stalker pack generally consists of three to four individuals.

When multiple Stalkers are present, their behavior changes dramatically.

They appear to coordinate.

One may remain directly in front of the player while the others reposition themselves around them.

Another may circle around through the trees.

A third may silently approach from behind.

They appear to understand that maintaining visual contact with multiple targets simultaneously is nearly impossible.

Never assume the Stalker you are watching is the only one.

If you see one...

Look around.

There may be others.

---

⚠ PACK AGGRESSION

Stalker packs are significantly more aggressive than solitary individuals.

They are capable of:

- Surrounding prey.

- Cutting off escape routes.

- Alternating movement.

- Flanking targets.

- Protecting injured pack members.

- Pursuing prey over long distances.

- Remaining together even when one member is separated.

Once a pack has selected a target, abandoning the area may not be enough.

The entire pack may continue pursuing it.

Recommended survival strategy:

Do not engage a pack unless absolutely necessary.

If you see three or four white figures standing motionless in the distance...

You have already been noticed.

---

♡ PROTECTIVE INSTINCTS

Despite their hostility toward outsiders, Stalkers possess surprisingly strong social bonds.

They are fiercely protective of their own kind.

Members of a pack will defend one another from threats.

This protective instinct becomes even stronger when offspring are present.

And that discovery came from perhaps the luckiest—or most foolish—villager to ever encounter one.

---

◇ STALKER OFFSPRING

Stalkers are capable of producing offspring.

Young Stalkers are dramatically different from adults.

Instead of being silent and calculating, they are:

Curious.

Energetic.

Easily distracted.

Extremely troublesome.

Young Stalkers are smaller and shorter than adults and possess the same white coloration and black eyes, although their eyes are less deeply sunken into their skulls.

They frequently wander away from their parents.

They investigate unfamiliar objects.

They chase small animals.

They climb things they probably shouldn't.

They have even been observed wandering directly into dangerous environments without realizing the danger.

Their parents inevitably have to retrieve them.

---

🐾 THE PARENTAL INSTINCT

An adult Stalker with offspring is significantly more dangerous than an ordinary Stalker.

A normally solitary Stalker may retreat from a threat if the situation becomes unfavorable.

A parent will not.

When protecting its young, a Stalker becomes extraordinarily aggressive.

It may abandon an active hunt entirely if its offspring is threatened.

It will prioritize the safety of its young above food, territory, and even its own safety.

Never approach a Stalker nest.

Especially not if you hear or see young nearby.

---

🌱 GROWTH

Young Stalkers appear to develop through several stages.

CHILD

Small • Curious • Energetic

Young Stalkers spend much of their time exploring.

They are easily distracted and may completely forget that they were following their parents.

ADOLESCENT

Larger • More observant • Increasingly territorial

As they mature, their playful curiosity begins to disappear.

They become more attentive to movement around them.

Their hunting instincts gradually emerge.

They begin practicing the characteristic stillness of adult Stalkers.

ADULT

Tall • Silent • Territorial • Predatory

Fully mature Stalkers possess the speed and hunting behavior associated with the species.

They become highly protective of their territory, pack, and offspring.

---

◈ PERSONALITY

Despite their reputation as monsters, Stalkers are not mindless creatures.

They demonstrate surprisingly sophisticated behavior.

They appear to possess:

Patience.

They can wait for extremely long periods for an opportunity to approach.

Intelligence.

They understand that their movement is restricted while observed and deliberately exploit this.

Curiosity.

Young Stalkers in particular are fascinated by unfamiliar objects and creatures.

Territoriality.

Adults fiercely defend areas they consider theirs.

Loyalty.

Pack members demonstrate strong attachment to one another.

Protectiveness.

Parents will defend their young with extraordinary determination.

The Stalker's hostility is therefore not necessarily indiscriminate.

They are simply very, very dangerous predators.

---

❖ THE VILLAGER'S ACCOUNT

One unusually determined villager claimed to have witnessed a Stalker family near his farmland.

According to his account, he initially believed the small creature wandering near his crops was another strange mob.

He approached.

The adult Stalker appeared almost instantly.

The villager described it as standing between him and the smaller creature.

He immediately understood.

The young Stalker wasn't prey.

It was its child.

The adult remained completely motionless while watching him.

The villager backed away.

The Stalker did not pursue.

Once the distance between them was sufficient, it turned toward its offspring and guided it away.

The villager survived.

He refused to return to that part of his farmland afterward.

His final warning was simple:

«“They are monsters to us. But to their children, they are parents.”»

☠ WATCHER VS. STALKER

The relationship between the two species remains poorly understood.

TRAIT| WATCHER| STALKER

Appearance| Black| White

Eyes| White| Black

Temperament| Passive| Hostile

Movement| Slow| Extremely fast

Response to observation| Hides face| Freezes

Primary behavior| Watching| Hunting

Social behavior| Groups occasionally| Packs occasionally

Player interaction| May bond| Usually attacks

Offspring| Unknown| Confirmed

Protective instincts| Moderate| Extremely strong

Their similarities suggest a shared evolutionary origin.

Their differences suggest something happened between their evolutionary paths.

Researchers remain divided on what that could have been.

---

⚠ SURVIVAL NOTES

If you encounter a Stalker:

1. Do not panic.

Panic causes mistakes.

2. Maintain visual contact.

The moment you look away, it can move.

3. Check your surroundings.

Especially if you suspect there may be more than one.

4. Do not approach young Stalkers.

An adult is almost certainly nearby.

5. Never assume a frozen Stalker is gone.

It is only waiting.

6. If you see a pack...

Leave.

Seriously.

Leave.

---

❝ FINAL OBSERVATION ❞

The Stalker is one of the most unusual predators known to inhabit the Overworld.

It does not roar.

It does not chase.

It does not announce itself.

It simply waits.

And when you look away...

It moves.

Perhaps the most unsettling thing about the Stalker is that it does not need darkness to hide.

It only needs your attention somewhere else.

So if you're walking through the forest at night and notice a tall white figure standing between the trees...

Don't blink.

Don't look away.

And whatever you do—

Don't assume there is only one.
