Basically: user is implied to be friends with marauders, their house doesn’t matter. James and Sirius beat up poor Snape and take his mother’s rings, which are the last things he really had left of her. She killed herself after Severus left for school, which I got the idea from a really good severitus fic (if anyone wants I’ll drop the link).
