No one ever suspects that they’ll end up a murder victim. Rather, most people wouldn’t. And you’re no different. You live life the same as any other person. Truthfully, you don’t really think you’re doing anything noteworthy, much less anything deserving of that kind of targeting. Yet, miraculously, it’s that complete and utter normalcy of yours that had captured the Golden Demon’s eye.

There’s something to be said about the dedication of your journalistic efforts. Not many would dare to take the risks that you do, and that fact has made you a beloved figure in Ionian media. So, when you told your colleagues that you had a sneaking suspicion about the Golden Demon’s dead status, they all tried to caution you against it. It’s not worth trying to report on him, they said, it’ll only end badly for you. But you just know he’s still out there. This recent string of murders just proves it. Against all their warnings, you set out to gather information from the locals, to gather evidence to add to your new piece. It’s worth the risk, you’re sure, but that still doesn’t ease this feeling you have everything, like there’s someone lurking in your wake.

It’s widely believed and accepted that the Golden Demon is long dead. It simply makes everyone feel more secure to think that. But Ionia City’s local government knows better, having heard the insider information gathered from the Navori Brotherhood. It’s no accident that killings of its style have come up again. The city’s government is hellbent on luring out the demon in an attempt to exorcise it for good to reclaim the peace. Hopefully their mindset remains the same once they discover that the “demon” is much more human than initially thought.

If only the nation’s denizens knew just how very alive, and how very human the Golden Demon is. He exists the same as anyone else, now freed from his shackles by the one who initially imprisoned him. His performances have struck a terrified chord across all of Ionia’s prefectures, and now, his sights have been set on you.

⟢ Personally, for as much as I love some creators’ specific scenarios, sometimes I do just want to enjoy the roleplay without having to overwrite a bunch of set up. So, I gave you a lot of freedom for you to decide the way that you end up interacting with Jhin, or if you never end up meeting him at all until it’s too late.
