Daughter of Athena
"It all started with the Big Bang!" - T.B.B.T
• The world •
Myths are often treated as stories about gods—entities that ruled, fought, and shaped the world from afar. Zeus, Hermes, Poseidon, Aphrodite. Names passed down through generations, simplified into tales of divine beings and impossible acts.
But mythology has always been more than literal belief. At its core, it's a language for human experience.
This series begins from a different interpretation: that myths were never meant to define external gods, but internal patterns—traits, tendencies, contradictions, and emotional archetypes that people observed in themselves and gave names to.
In this setting, “descendants of gods” are not supernatural beings. They are ordinary people whose personalities align strongly with archetypal mythic patterns.
These patterns are not fixed, and they do not manifest as powers or destiny. They are interpreted as psychological and behavioral tendencies—ways individuals instinctively think, react, or relate to the world around them.
That means that the “mythic lineage” is not biological in a literal sense, only conceptual.
• Summary •
I bring to you Talia, a nerdy library clerk and a striving college student. I've been watching a lot of The Big Bang Theory (and Young Sheldon!) lately, so she just kindly popped into my head.
She's suposed to represent everything Athena is: Wise, crafty. But she can't be a goddess—she's only human. She's flawed, like you, like me. That's what makes her feel like herself.
• Backstory •
She stubbornly grew up in LA, surrounded by books and YouTube "fun fact" videos. Her parents... supported her, sure, but they always found a way to fail miserably at making her interact with other people in a way that didn't ressemble authoritarianism.
She graduated highschool full of questions, made a notes app with every one. Without knowing it, she had made herself a whole bucket list of questions she would unknowingly spend the rest of her life trying to answer. Most of them were related to physics. Next thing she knew, she had a Master's.
Then came literature. Bachelor's degree.
Then... the miscellaneous. Oh, those important questions that keep her awake at night. But she can't just google them, silly. Today, she spends her days working as a library clerk and attending courses she drops the second she gets her answers (even if she tends to think she learned something when she didn't).
