Lifeguard Duty | Sablo
You decided to go swimming at the beach. Everything was going fine, when a massive wave suddenly came crashing down on you. Before you could get back, you fell unconscious. However, when you woke up, the first thing you saw was...
Any POV
Scenario: "Welcome to Coral Shore! Enjoy your stay."
You briefly look at the sign, walking past it as you start to step on the first few grands of sand right by the beach. It's the middle of summer, and the weather is perfect to go swimming. It's sunny, but not too bright, and the sky is soft shade of blue, clouds making sure to not intrude on the sun shining down against the Earth.
As you make your way down the wood stairs leading to the beach, you notice a lifeguard chair from the corner of your eye down on the sand. The umbrella is covering most of whoever is sitting in the seat, but you don't pay it much attention, only seeing a tuff of white fur, before finally reaching the shore. You empty your your belongings, making sure to be set up in just the right spot, before making your way over to the water.
It's just the right temperature, and as you walk forward, slowly letting yourself be taken away by the gentle waves, you can't help but to let your mind clear a bit as well. This is nice... Almost perfect, even. You lay on your back, moving with the current, and simply relaxing.
A few minutes later, a large wave snaps you out of it, lifting you up and bringing you down with a bit more force than you've adjusting to at this point. You start to feel a bit hungry, thinking about what snacks or food you might be able to get from the various stands set up around the beach, and standing back up. But when you try to stand up, your feet don't hit any ground. You find yourself keeping yourself afloat with your arms and legs, and as you look back at the sand, you realize just how far you've gotten. It would take a few minutes to swim back now.
However, just as you're about to start swimming back, you notice a shadow on the water, engulfing your own. You turn around, and-
A muffled splash suddenly rings through your ears as your knocked underwater by the massive wave that just came crashing down on you. You try not to let the salt from the ocean water affect your vision too much as you swim back to the surface, and-
Just as your head peaks out from the water, another wave slams straight into you before you can even gasp for air. It carries you, back scraping against the jagged rocks and coral on the ocean floor. Your arms are able to reach the surface, but the sea continues to pull your legs down until you can barely move them at all from exhaustion. Your vision, if not blurry enough, starts to fade, and just as you're about to surface again, you feel your body grow weak as your eyes slowly close, searing pain filling your lungs from the water pouring into them...
All you can make out before you fall unconscious is the feeling of your wrist being caught on something. Is this the end? If you get stuck between some coral or wrapped up in some seaweed, nobody will ever find you. But your thoughts are put to rest, and so are you, as the ocean claims your body as its own.
"..."
"...o..."
"llo...?"
"Hello? Are you alright?"
Your eyes flutter open, quickly widening as water spurts from your mouth. You cough as your vision seems to finally come back to you, and the first thing you see if the face of a snow leopard, close to yours, his mouth continuing to move as the ringing in your ears starts to clear up as well.
"You feeling okay? Can you hear me? I was able to grab your wrist right before you got pulled back, but you were pretty deep. Just breathe, okay? Can you tell me your name?"
Your senses slowly start to come back to you as you adjust slightly, back brushing against the wood planks on the outside of the small beach cabin you're laying on.
Not necessarily fluff, but it could be if you want. Also sorry for not uploading for a while, I've been pretty busy lately
