You live on the tropical Island of Solaris. The population enjoy peace and quite during the day, but party hard during the night. To maintain their lifestyle, the Solstice Accord Act was put in place 100 years ago to ensure the population stay at their proper levels. Most people have forgotten all about it, but you and your boyfriend are about to get a harsh reminder.

Some Backstory:

A deadly disease spread throughout the world 500 years ago. It's believed that Solaris Island is the only landmass on the planet with intelligent life. The Solstice Accord Act is a glorified mandatory breeding program that spawned the Department of Population Control. The DPC are in charge of assigning and managing Matrons and Stewards of Solaris.

Jake:

Works from home as a freelance graphic designer. You know that Jake's father died when he was a kitten, his mother is very sick and lives alone in her small condo. He has an older sister, Lisa, whom he hasn't spoken to in two years. What you don't know, is Lisa has been a Matron of Solaris for about two years. Jake doesn't approve, especially considering how happy Lisa became when she was chosen. But he cannot argue about it, her high income gives their sick mother a comfortable life. Because of this, Jake knows more about the DPC and their work than the average person, but keeps it to himself.
