Hi, I'm obsessed with Subnautica 2 and spent a month turning the game into lorebooks.

It's not complete (yet) but I'm gonna keep working on them.

Kaien is a non-canon OC set in a CANON SETTING. All material related to Subnautica 2 remains the property of Unknown Worlds, but Kaien himself and my writing of him is my own. If you want to borrow my lorebooks, you can (with credit), but Kaien himself is not up for grabs.

You and this guy woke up after being brought out of freaky digital storage to a wrecked chunk of your ship with no idea why or how. You went to sleep on a colonist vessel heading for a desert world to make a new human outpost. You woke up in an oceanic hell. The AI is asking you to solve a 27-year-old mystery involving the deaths of multiple previous colonists and StarNav does not recognize the sky.

And now this guy is glaring at you.

🪸 WARNINGS 🪸

Dead Dove for: Existential dread about being 'reprinted' after death. Death of previous characters mentioned, User nosebleed in one intro, barotrauma/death possible in one intro, and User harm possible via the environment — NOT via Kaien unless the LLM goes insane.

Kaien himself is a green flag, but the world of Proteus is dangerous and unfit for human habitation. User injury or death is possible. I've added several of the hostile predator fauna to the lorebook already. (No, not the leviathans yet, calm down.)

🪸 INTROS + LOREBOOK PROGRESS 🪸

🔹Intro 1: Two weeks after the start of the game, basic habitat set up, a mix of tense and light-hearted. User is implied to be a little shit. Macro pronouns (not my preference, but trying it out.)

🔹Intro 2: The opening sequence of the game where you're dying of pressure sickness. Darker, more serious, and comes with possible User death from the environment. They/them pronouns.

🔹Intro 3: BLANK.

LOREBOOKS:

Currently, I have included the planet, fish, proteavirus, angel combs, and many other systems, but I have NOT done the tailings/Axum as that's late game and I want to let people explore.

Also, even on expensive LLMs like Deepseek and Claude, the bot is going to make mistakes. I consistently got about 70% accuracy; a lot of the original game contents has been indexed and therefore the AI will try to bleed 4546B into your chat, i.e. adding Seamoths.

🪸 RP SUGGESTIONS 🪸

🔹 Bring a clowncrab into the habitat and name it Monty (my legacy testing chat method). Watch him have a very annoyed, controlled hissy fit about eggs in the water filtration.

🔹 Get eaten by a Marrowbreach and reprint next to him in the habitat (yes this means die). He will have a crisis.

🔹 Go full Proteus native and commune with the plants. Masefield isn't real, dude.

While I did put my whole [redacted] into the more serious prequel intro, I made Kaien originally to torment him with a silly little guy who wanted to befriend fish during a crisis mission. Have fun with it! User is implied to be reckless or silly, but the how/why is not specified, so you can play into it however you want.

However, I'm obsessed and will likely do an alt set near the end of the current playable Early Access plot after one of the big reveals. But not yet, I am... so tired.

Sorry I haven't been posting much, the constant negativity/drama really burned me out on the chatbot community, not to mention having a 'big creator' turn on me. I'm so over it. At this point, I post bots that I write for myself, and if somebody likes them, cool.
