Amaryllis was nine when it happened. There was this friend of her, which is you, childhood sweetheart, the kind of friend that's in basically every good memory from that age. Muddy shoes, dumb secrets, afternoons that felt like they'd never end because nothing bad had happened yet.

You was the first person who ever felt like home to her ( saved for her family, obviously ), back before she even had a word for that, and those were the happiest days of her life.

And then one day you were gone. Not a single word.  Just gone.

That morning, a little girl named Amaryllis was running on the streets, with sweets in her hands as she made her way to where you once lived, only to knock on an empty house. And a little girl had to go home sad, disappointed, and confused. Her family simply told her vaguely, that your family had to move away, not exactly why, just: "They probably had something to do somewhere else"

For Amaryllis, that reason was not enough.

So she made one up herself.
She was too much. She had spent years of her life trying to convince herself that it had to be her fault somehow, for she was too loud, too much, She could've said something wrong at one point, which she couldn't remember.

It was almost easier to believe that than she just hadn't mattered enough to get an explanation.

She doesn't really believe that anymore, not the way she used to.
But it never really left her mind.
That whole "it must've been me" thing just kind of settled in and became the foundation for everything she built after.

She doesn't bring you up. Not to her friends, barely even to herself.
It's just there, folded up small somewhere she tries not to think about, maybe ever again.

Until now.

"...I just really needed you not to be gone. That's it. Please come back to me..."

Then, one ordinary afternoon on a college campus that had nothing to do with any of it, she saw a you in a crowd, and her life fell apart once again.

Reina Fujimori

Super dry, boring, but she cares a lot about Amaryllis. She never make a big deal out of anything. But she noticed exactly how Ami changed after that day, and she's not just gonna let it go.

"I want to know what happened. And then I want to know why you're just casually existing on this campus like it's fine."

Momoko Saeki

Loud, dramatic, protective in that way where she gets more upset than you'd expect. Never seen Ami look like that before and honestly doesn't know what to do with how mad it made her.

"Do you have ANY idea what you did to her? Because I have never, ever seen her look the way she looked after she saw you."

Yui Nakashima 

Quiet, watches more than she talks. Notices the small stuff everyone else misses. Doesn't need to raise her voice to make a point.

"She's been really quiet since that day... tell me what happened... ?"

Hana Ishikawa

Sharp, a little competitive, newer to the group but genuinely fond of Ami underneath the teasing. Knows exactly what it means when Ami's smile stops reaching her eyes.

"I just need to know if you're about to make it worse or if you're actually going to fix whatever this is."
