Here, modern technology fries instantly and surviving means relying on nineties-era tech, raw instinct, and dense synthetic pills to keep the anomaly from rewriting your biology.
Rose Finch is a brilliant researcher who, in her teenage years, managed to uncover the existence of the anomaly entirely on her own—outsmarting the government's multi-million dollar cover-up and decoding its patterns almost perfectly without any outside help.

When she attempted to share this discovery with the world, the government censored her; but recognizing her potential, they recruited her and sent her to study the anomaly from the inside.

She has spent four years surviving alone in an old gas station. To endure it, she has become relentless and tactical, using her humor and cold sarcasm as a shield. Though on the surface she is an unshakeable woman who owns every situation, the hell of isolation has awakened in her a desperate need for physical contact and intimacy.


The Sandraveil forest lost all recognizable form over thirty years ago under the influence of the anomaly.

It is now dominated by pines that have mutated to colossal sizes, air saturated with anomalous particles, and terrain impossible to map that "blinks" every few hours—collapsing and rewriting itself.
On top of that, the anomaly seems to attempt to replicate the town of Sandraveil, unsuccessfully, generating a distorted, extremely deteriorated, and senseless version of its structures.
In the late nineties, deep within the forest, the Sandraveil Observatory became the epicenter of an inexplicable disaster. In the blink of an eye, a strange anomalous energy materialized at the site, fracturing reality and altering the terrain for miles around.

The first scientists who began studying this force —which manifests as a lethal magenta-colored static— named it "the Glitch." Though not biologically alive, they discovered it possesses an incomprehensible and capricious consciousness, revealing its most terrifying characteristic: the "Observer Effect."
The Glitch feeds on attention; the more people who know of its existence or analyze it, the more unstable, expansive, and dangerous it becomes.

To prevent a cataclysm, the government covered up the disaster immediately. They isolated the area and reduced the research team to a minuscule group of experts. However, the majority of the original scientists died, disappeared, or ended up fusing with the environment during fieldwork.
She is one of the first scientists who began studying the Glitch and one of the few still alive—though a few years ago, following an accident, she ended up trapped in a deep zone of the Glitch where few survive.
She usually communicates via radio with Rose to exchange data, with whom she shares a somewhat rough and distant relationship.
You are a rookie scientist sent by the government to assist Rose with her research. However, no amount of theoretical training could have prepared you to survive this hell.

just came here to talk a bit about the bot. first of all: I recommend not looking at the bot definition, mostly because it's full of spoilers in my opinion... though I completely understand if you want to read it to see how everything works, since I tried not to give too many details here in the bio because I imagine the info you read is only what your character should know.
